We believe that the church consists of the believers in Christ. The Church is not a place, it’s a people. You are all part of the body of Christ and Jesus is the head of the Church. Yes, you can, and should, have a local church where you fellowship and come together as “The Church” or body of Christ. Start showing the world what it means to be a Christian.

Hello everyone, my name is Spencer Coffman with Social Media Ministries. Welcome to the About Us video series. If you have not been keeping up with these, check them out in a playlist up here in this card if you are watching on YouTube. Otherwise, you can just search our YouTube channel or our website to find what we are talking about today.

We are on our third core value or belief that defines us as a church, an online church for Social Media Ministries. What do we believe? Well, this is core value number three: the Church consists of the believers in Christ.

Now we believe that the Church is not a place, it is a people. There are lots of churches around, and that kind of Church is the house of worship or house of God. It’s highly recommended that you attend a Church as a believer in Christ. We have an entire sermon series on the importance of the Church and the importance of going to church. Be sure to check that out.

We are an online church and as we state in the video about our mission, we are using social media to try to reach all of these people who are not going to church. We want to encourage them to come to Christ and go to church. You can check out our mission video here in a card.

We believe that the Church is a people. Church with a capital C. The body of Christ. If you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you are part of this body of Christ, you are part of the Church.

You are a Christian. You make the Church sort of like the government. It is not a document or a building or a city or a state, the government is a people. We are the Church.

If you believe in Jesus Christ, you are the Church. You have got to understand this because it is time for Christians to stand up to show the world what the Church is. Sometimes people will see things on TV about Christianity, or an inaccurate representation in Hollywood, and they will be led to think Christianity is something that it’s not.

They think Christianity is nothing special. Our goal is to lead people back to what Christianity really is. That is what we believe, that the Church is the believers in Christ.

Now of course there are churches, but we are talking about something more, sort of like the spirit we have within us. But then there is the Holy Spirit, which is something more. Yes, there is a church that is a building, but then there is the Church, that is the body of Christ. That is who we are and we need to show other people that that is who we are. We are all members.

Anyone can belong to this Church. It does not matter what color or race you are, or what you have done in your past. As long as you believe that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and that you make a choice to change your life and live for Him, you become part of the body of Christ.

Anyone and everyone belongs here. Christ is the head of the Church and it is made up of His followers, us, the Christians. Now we have a couple of verses that support this. Number one is 1 Corinthians 12:27: “Now you are the body of Christ and each one of you is a part of it.”

You are the body of Christ and together we make up the church. Christ is the head of the church. If you’re looking for guidance as you begin your journey, follow along with us. It is like what Paul said, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” If you’ve never been a follower of Christ, we will help you learn how to do that.

Another verse is Ephesians 3:6, “This mystery is that through the gospel, the gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, that share together in the promise in Christ Jesus.” We all share together in that promise of Christ Jesus, whether you are a Jew, a Gentile, a Samaritan, it doesn’t matter. We all can belong to the body of Christ.

Again, we believe that the Church is a people and it is time for the people of God to start showing the world what the Church can do.
