Remember that Satan’s fate has already been sealed. He has been and is defeated. That’s his nature, to be defeated. Therefore, Satan’s future has already been determined. We know his fate. God told us what it is in the Bible.

But what about your future? Do you know where you’re headed? Are you living a life that aligns with God’s plan for your destiny?

Don’t be deceived by the lies of this world. Satan wants nothing more than to lead you astray from your true purpose and calling in life. He will use every trick in his arsenal to distract you, tempt you, and steer you off course.

That’s why it’s so important to stay grounded in God’s word and seek His guidance daily. You must resist the devil at every turn and hold fast to your faith.

Therefore, when Satan attacks you and tries to tell you what a horrible person you are. When he reminds you of all of the sins you’ve committed and all the harm you’ve done. Simply remember that you’ve already been forgiven.

Don’t let Satan have any foothold in your life. Choose instead to follow Jesus Christ as Lord of all, surrendering everything over to Him completely. In addition, remind Satan of his future. He can’t be looking forward to it. Remind him that he has already lost and tell him to leave you alone!

Remember, you are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world (Ephesians 6:12). If you put on the full armor of God – truth, righteousness, peace, faith – then you can stand firm against anything that comes your way (Ephesians 6:13).

Live boldly for Christ today and every day!

When Satan reminds you of your past, remind him of his future.

Hello and welcome to Social Media Ministries, my name is Spencer Coffman. Thank you so much for being here this week. We are wrapping up a great four-part sermon series on how and why God allows Satan to attack you. We have spoken about a few different topics, if you have not seen them, you can check them out in a card up here or navigate to our YouTube channel to find the playlist.

We spoke about God allowing Satan and the demons to attack you. Why does that happen? Well two reasons, it is either a course correction or it is a heavenly battle that is beyond you. In the case of a course correction, you have got to examine and see if that is the case if you need to make a change.

If you have examined everything, you have talked to pastors, you have read the Bible, you have prayed to God, you have really done an analysis and that there is not anything going on in your life that you are doing wrong to make that change, then you just need to rejoice and call on God because there is a heavenly battle going on exactly like Job.

Then you need to remember no matter what during all of that, Satan is already defeated. He will strike your heel, but you will crush his head with Jesus in you. You have already done that. You have already defeated him. Just remember that. You have to have that with Jesus, you have already defeated him. No matter what is going on, you have already won.

Then when and how will they attack. Well, they are going to attack you when you are at your lowest. When you are at your worst when things keep going on. They are going to keep hitting you when you are down. How do you prevent that? Always be studying the Bible. Always have it on your lips, as you go through your day be talking to God.

As you go through your day, anytime someone says something or you read something, if it sparks anything about a Bible verse, think of that verse as you are going through your day. Have song lyrics in your head of Christian concepts, of verses and God and angels and good things that are spiritual.

If you are always in the Word, always with God every step of the way, Satan will keep his distance because he knows he cannot defeat Jesus who is in you. He cannot defeat Him. He has already been defeated by Him.

The second you start to step away or the second you start to go from those concepts and give in to whatever it is, anger, some type of addiction, a relapse, you get impatient, the second that happens Satan is waiting. He is waiting right there, probably standing right here, probably not because we are engaging in this.

But he could be standing somewhere over here waiting for me to all of a sudden have that split second where my temper takes over or where I think that I am alone or where I feel like I need a drink or where something happens, that split second that my thought train goes off the track, Satan is gonna grab it and start putting it on a new track and try to pull me away. He is just waiting to do that. So stay in the Word so that he does not have that opportunity.

Today we are talking about Satan’s future. This is the most encouraging part of this sermon series. Satan has a future, you have a future, we all have a future. Satan’s future though has already been decided, his future, his fate has been sealed, and what his favorite thing to do is when he is attacking you is to remind you of your past. It is true.

Satan loves to remind you, hey you remember when you did this? You remember when you invested in that thing and lost all that money? Yeah, you were a bad steward of what God gave you. You remember when you promised this person something and it did not work out and you let them down? Yeah, you are horrible. You remember when you did this and you lied and you hurt someone? Yeah, that is not good.

He will keep doing that. He loves to remind you about your past. He does it to me all the time. I remember things like when I was five years old and I did this thing. Five years old? What are you talking about? Why? It is old news. You are probably the only one that remembers that. But Satan keeps bringing it to you. Remember when this happened? Remember when this happened?

He loves to do that because he knows that it will kind of weaken your state of mind and pretty soon it is a slippery slope or a snowball and all of a sudden it is a railroad train wreck going right into despair. Then he will pounce and attack and try to give you something that you think will make you feel better.

Like maybe you better have a drink to cloud out those thoughts or maybe better have a cigarette to calm down or maybe better do some drugs or maybe better, whatever it is, maybe better just take the day off and lay on the couch and watch TV. Whatever it is he will do that, he keeps bringing that up.

How can you fight against that? Well of course with scripture. But a great and easy way to do that is when you start thinking of those things that happened years ago, number one, that is your past. It is the past, it is gone.

So what do you do? You say Satan, I have a past but guess what, your future is even worse. Remind him of his future. Remember God already erased those sins in the past. They are gone because He forgave you. If you have your Bible, and I hope you do, turn with me to Ephesians chapter 4 verse 32. All of these scriptures will be referenced in the description below, I encourage you to look them up at another time.

‘Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.’ Jesus forgave you. He already forgave you. Even when people were crucifying Him, He said, ‘Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.’ Forgive them. They did not even ask for forgiveness, yet and Jesus is like forgive them anyway. Forgive them, they are killing me, but I want them forgiven because He died to forgive you.

So those sins that Satan keeps bringing up, you do not have to worry about that. You just need to make sure you have been forgiven. Colossians 3:13, let’s go there, Colossians 3:13, ‘Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.’ He forgave you, do not let Satan make you feel bad about something for which you have already been forgiven.

If you have already been forgiven of it, why do you keep bringing it up? Well, you are not bringing it up, Satan is. But it is already done and over with so he is trying to get that guilt going and going and going. To bring you into despair, to bring you down, you have already been forgiven. That is it. That is what you need to think, as soon as those thoughts start coming, I have already been forgiven, it is gone.

Satan, you have a future. Remind him of that. What is it? We will get there now. If you have not been forgiven for whatever that thought is or whatever you may have done if you have not been forgiven yet, then it is the holy spirit convicting you, so it might not be Satan. If it is that, then you need to seek forgiveness from God and from others.

You have to seek forgiveness. If you keep thinking of these past sins, think about okay, wait a minute. What happened there? Did I wrong someone? Okay, I gotta ask for forgiveness from them. Even if it is years ago, send them an email, call them up, find them on Facebook. Hey, 20 years ago I remember that I did this, I am very sorry, I do not think I ever apologized. I just want to apologize and seek your forgiveness. The person might be like, I do not even remember what you are talking about. But thank you.

They might forgive you or they might even say, I am mad about that, I am not gonna forgive you. Okay then just do not even contact him anymore, it is done, it is fine. You sought forgiveness, that is your step. Whether or not they forgive you is up to them. You do not control that. All you need to do is put it out there. Do your part and ask and then ask God.

If you wrong someone on earth, ask them. Also ask God, God will forgive you. You have got to seek that forgiveness. Once you have been forgiven, the sins are no more. How do we know this? Well God erases that. He does not keep a record of wrongs. Let’s go to two scriptures to support this point.

1 John 4:8 says, ‘Whoever does not love, does not know God, because God is love.’ Okay so God is love. Write that down, God is love. What is love? Well 1 Corinthians 13:5, this is a very popular verse among marriages and wedding ceremonies. It is talking about love. ‘It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.’

God is love. Love keeps no record of wrongs. What does that mean? God keeps no record of wrongs. Once you have been forgiven, that sin is no more, it is blotted out. There is no record of it in God’s eyes. Therefore anytime you think of any past sins you have committed for which you have already been forgiven, you are being attacked by the devil. What do you need to do? You need to fight back.

Remind Satan of his future, tell him he has already been defeated. Hey, I have been forgiven for those sins, Satan you have already been defeated, you have already lost, the battle has been won and you have been defeated time and time again.

Remember we talked about that in that message. He has already been defeated. Remind him. Hey, look at your past. You were cast out of heaven. Revelation 12:9, you could even use scripture to remind him. 12:9 says, ‘The great dragon was hurled down, that ancient serpent called the devil or Satan who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth and his angels with him.’

You were cast out of heaven, that is your past and guess what your future, eternal punishment, burning, every single day, every single night. 1John 3:8 another one you could use to remember, 1John 3:8, ‘He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.’

Jesus came here to destroy the devil’s work. He has been sinning from the beginning. He starts reminding you of your past, you say in your past you were destroyed, you were cast out of heaven, you tried to take the earth. You thought you were going to win but Jesus came and defeated you again. In the future, you are going to be defeated even more.

Even though he has temporary dominion over this earth, you are still above him. What do I mean by that? You are still above him. You are above the devil and of the devil’s demons. Genesis chapter 3 verse 15, ‘And I will put an enmity between you and the woman.’ This is God talking to Satan. ‘Between her offspring and yours. He will crush your head and you will strike his heel.’

Now, of course, Satan striking your heel could be very painful. You may have seen some gladiator movies or movies of the ancient Greek wars and things like that and a lot of times in some of those movies someone either gets an arrow through the Achilles tendon or someone takes a sword and slices it open. What does that do? That renders their legs pretty much useless. They go down and so yes Satan can strike your heel and bad things could happen.

But you could crush his head. Which blow is more fatal? A crushed head is going to be fatal every single time. A struck heel is only fatal a few times and in some cases, a struck heel could lose you your leg. That would not be fatal. You could get a slice, that would not be fatal. Of course later on it could, some infection could happen and that could be fatal.

But it was not the striking of the heel that was fatal, it was something else. You could get struck by a deadly snake or a spider or a scorpion or something on the heel and that could kill you, that could be fatal, but every time a head is crushed there is not one instance where it could be survived, not one.

Okay, you may get a fatal scorpion or some type of venomous animal or creature on your heel, that is a strike, but guess what there is probably an antidote. You could be cured. You get your head crushed, there is no antidote for that. You are not going to 3D print a new head. There is no antidote, it is fatal every single time.

God says that he could strike your heel, but you can crush his head, you have already won. When he starts attacking you, remind him of that. Hey Satan, yeah you reminded me of my past, but your past you have lost against Jesus, you were cast out, you lost against Him again on the earth. I am more powerful than you because I have Jesus within me. I am defeating you every single day and guess what my blow is fatal, I can crush your head, and guess what your future is eternal punishment.

Now of course do not go out there and be proud and arrogant, because guess what if you become proud and arrogant, you are going to fall. You are going to be destroyed. We have talked about that before, that when you start to get proud and arrogant, God will humble you. He will allow Satan to attack for a course correction and He will allow Satan to land blows.

Do not be proud, do not be arrogant. But when it starts happening, remember you have already won. Remind him of his future. Eventually, Satan will be defeated for the last time. He has been defeated many many times, it is like he is talking to a statue, asking for something and the statue just does not even say anything, does not reply. Or he is talking to someone that the only word they know is no.

He has been defeated time and time again and each and every day you resist you are defeating him. You may not know it, but you are defeating him. Every single day you are defeating his demons. Every single day with Jesus in you, you have already defeated him. Many many times for generations and one day, his future is going to be pretty terrible.

‘And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.’ Revelation 20:10. Day and night forever and ever. There is no hope. Tormented day and night forever and ever. That is his future.

So when he starts bringing up those sins of your past and you say, I have already been forgiven, that is number one. I have already been forgiven. Number two, I have already defeated you. You have already won. Number three, someday you will be defeated permanently and be tormented day and night forever and ever, leave me alone in Jesus’ name.

That is it. One more time, I have already been forgiven, write it down. That is what you must say when the devil starts bringing this stuff up, I have already been forgiven. Number two, I have already defeated you. You have already defeated him. Number three, someday you will be defeated forever in the lake of fire for all eternity, tormented day and night forever and ever.

When Satan reminds you of your past, remind him of his future. He has a future. It is not going to be good. Remind him of it. You have already defeated him. Jesus is in you. Maintain in Him, stay in Jesus. There is a verse about remaining in the vine. You are a branch, you remain in Him and He in you. You are inseparable. There is nothing that can go wrong. There is nothing that Satan can take away. No one can snatch you from the hand of God. Stay in His hand. Remind Satan of his future when he brings up your past.

Let’s pray. Lord Jesus thank you for this positive and encouraging message today. That we know that with you we have already defeated Satan. There is nothing that can stand against you. Thank you so much for being in our lives, for being with us.

I pray a special anointing and a blessing over each and every person watching and listening. That they would dive into your Word. That they would meditate on it day and night. That they would be filled with scripture, with references, with quotes, and ideas that are all coming from the Bible, that are from you.

That anytime Satan would attack, that they would remember those three steps. That they would say, I have been forgiven, and that they have already defeated Satan and that someday he will be defeated forever permanently. That they would remember that and then that if that is not enough, that they would use scripture and drive Satan away.

Because the closer they are to you, the closer you are to them and the further away is Satan and the devil and the evil demons. Lord, I ask that they would seek you each and every moment of every single day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
