Begin spending some time each and every day with God. This is a very important part of growing spiritually which will help you become more at peace with your life and feel much more fulfilled. Commit yourself to God and begin living your life for Him rather than for yourself or for other humans. This is the best way to live a happy and peaceful life.

Make time each day to talk to God. You can do this first thing in the morning, before you go to bed at night, or anytime in between. It doesn’t matter when you talk to God, just that you do it regularly. Tell Him what’s on your mind, and ask Him for help with whatever you’re struggling with. Then, listen for His response. He will speak to you through your thoughts and feelings, so pay attention to what you’re thinking and feeling after you’ve talked to God.

After you’ve been talking to God regularly for a while, you’ll start to notice a difference in your life. You’ll feel happier and more at peace, and you’ll be better able to handle whatever comes your way. You’ll also find that you’re more interested in doing things that please God, and less interested in doing things that are harmful to yourself or others. This is because when you commit your life to God, He will change your heart and give you a new desire to please Him.

Hello, everyone. My name is Spencer Coffman. Welcome to Social Media Ministries. Thank you for tuning in.

If this is your first time with us, I hope that you would consider to subscribe to the channel. Also, there’s a bell icon at the bottom there by the like and everything on the YouTube videos. If you could click that bell icon, that would alert you when we post new content, so that would be great.

And, you can also follow us on Facebook. We have a Facebook page where we will be sharing content there, as well – same as these videos, so you can watch them there. You can watch them here on YouTube.

Please, also, consider sharing all of this with your friends, family, social media, because as you hopefully know if you’ve watched our very first video, the introduction or the backstory of Social Media Ministries, that the purpose of Social Media Ministries is to basically spread the Word of God with as many people as possible using social media. So, that is that.

Today, we are going to be talking about a very important lesson. One of the sermons or preachings or teachings, whatever you choose to call them, but that is what we are going to be going over today is committing yourself to the LORD.

So, now by LORD, we mean LORD, all capital. So, that would be the traditional, the formal name of God, which is Yahweh, and that was given to us, or we learned about that. Basically, it translates as “I AM” or “The Great I AM” or “I AM THAT I AM.”

It is from Moses and the burning bush when he was sent, and he said, “Who should I tell them that is sending me?” I can’t just say God because they’ll say, “Which god?” And so, He said, “Yahweh.”

Now, when that’s written in the Bible – in the Old Testament-New Testament, wherever – and it says LORD with capital L, capital O, capital R, capital D, that traditionally means Yahweh or the name of our God. That’s why usually it says, “The LORD, your God,” would mean “Yahweh, your God.”

So, it’s committing to Him. It’s not just committing to a lord, like a lord in a castle, or a lords and ladies type of a thing. This is the real deal. This is God, the King of Kings, the LORD, Yahweh, or Jesus Christ. So, it is committing to Him.

Now, some of you who are watching this maybe are not traditionally churchgoers, or you are churchgoers, or maybe you’re not Christian, but that’s what we are spreading here is Jesus Christ and how He is our savior.

You will get to know more about that in videos, future videos. If it is something that you want to know more about, feel free to comment on the video or also send us a message on our Facebook page.

We can help you learn as much as you want to know about what a great and awesome person Jesus is and was when He walked the earth, but He still is today. So, that is something that is really cool. Again, if you want to know more, feel free to reach out. We can help you with that.

So, today we’re going to be talking more about committing yourself to the LORD and what that looks like. So, what you need to do is make the effort to continually commit. Now, that doesn’t mean simply going to church one time a week or once in a while. It means doing it every day. You need to make it a part of your life. It needs to be something that you do all the time.

Now, a great way to do this is to get a daily devotional, something that you can read every single day. There are tons of them out there. Some really famous ones are by people like Max Lucado, Joyce Meyers, Oswald Chambers. I’ve even written one if you would like to check that out; it’s called 365 Days of Devotion.

So, that is something you could look into or any of those. Chances are you probably have one or have had one, and maybe you don’t read it as often as you should. But, I really encourage you to start doing that.

Take some time every single day and read out of a devotional, a daily devotional. Make sure it’s a good one – has reviews, or it has been verified by Christian or biblical scholars so that the content that you’re reading isn’t going to lead you astray, so to speak.

Again, many of these bigger names – or you can always ask. Leave a comment. I’d be happy to help do some research for you to find out if you’re questioning it, but the point is do something. So, start reading something because it is going to help you.

And, if you don’t like reading, don’t worry about it. You can watch videos as we have right here. You’re watching this. You can watch videos by other people. You can listen to devotions or to Bible messages, anything like that. So, that’s important. You need to commit!

The next thing is also something that will really help you with committing to this is oftentimes in devotionals, in messages, sermons, teachings, any of that, there is something called Bible references.

So, usually what that means is if someone is teaching – I did it earlier in the video where I referenced Moses and the burning bush and how God told him that His name is Yahweh. That’s who sent him. Now, if you don’t know that story, or if you do know the story but you’re not as familiar – I just kind of jogged your memory.

Even if you know it, I encourage you to get out your Bible and read it! So, find it. If you don’t know where it’s located – usually, I should’ve told you where it is – but you can Google the story, type it in. You can even read it online. You can read it on your phone. You can get out your Bible. Read the biblical references that are brought up in the devotionals, in the teachings.

What that’s going to do is it’s going to get you in the right mindset. It’s going to help you learn more about the context about what is going on, and also, even more powerful, the Word of God is living. It is active. So, if you read the story, even though you already know it, something else may speak to you. This Word is alive.

That means whatever you are going through in your life at whatever point in time you are reading it, you could read the same verse today and 10 years from now, and it might mean or you might get something different out of it because it is alive. It is speaking to you.

Literally, as you read it, those words can lift off the page and touch your heart and soul. It is unbelievably powerful. So, read the biblical references or the Bible or the stories brought up in the devotionals or the sermons that you are having – again, very important, very powerful.

So, not only that but once you read it, you need to think about it. Give yourself time. Sit there, be quiet, be still, and allow God to speak to you. Pray, pray to the LORD about what you’ve read. Ask Him, “Hey, reveal this to me. I read it.”

Maybe you don’t understand it, or maybe nothing new lifted off the page for you. Maybe you read it, and it’s just words on paper. Well then, ask. Ask for the interpretation. Ask God, get on the Facebook page, comment on this YouTube video, and ask. Because if you don’t ask – and you don’t know – you’ll never find out.

So, you need to ask as many places as you can and don’t just take a survey or a poll because that’s not going to help. You need to commit to God, so ask Him first. Read your devotional, read the Bible messages that go with it, talk to God about it. Ask Him to reveal it to you so that you can fully understand what is going on.

And then, if you still don’t understand, consult maybe your pastor, maybe your friends in Christ, your brothers and sisters in Christ. You could also comment on this video, you could contact us on our Facebook page, you could comment on our Facebook posts – do whatever you can. Ask questions, and then you will get answers.

Allow God to use not only these videos but your devotional – whichever one you choose it to be – to change your life. Because your life will change. If you commit to God, and I mean just commit by saying – start small.

Okay, your goal – put it on a calendar, get an alert on your phone, whatever the case may be. Your goal could be 10 minutes a day. You’re going to read the one-page devotional. Then you’re going to look up the Bible verses. You’re going to read them. Then you’re going to spend some time in prayer – 10 minutes, could be 15 minutes. You could start with five minutes. The point is you need to start.

Just like with these videos. If you’ve watched the video on starting Social Media Ministries, all I needed to do was start. God will take care of the rest. He will speak to you if you are willing to listen. He says in Revelation: I stand at the door and knock. You need to answer the door. That means taking a step. That means walking to the door. What is the door? Well, the door would be the Bible, would be devotions, praying, talking to God.

Read what God has given us. He has given us the Bible; that is the most important. It is the living Word. It is active. It will speak to you. Then, you can also – again, you read the devotionals to find the Bible passages.

If you want to start reading the book, the whole Bible, open it up, read it cover to cover, get a one-year Bible plan, so it splits it up for you. There are great ones that you can get that are chronological Bibles. They are one year where it just takes you through some of Psalms, some of Proverbs, some of the Old Testament, some of the New Testament.

You can do any of that. You can start reading. But, a devotional will help you to interpret, as well. And then, of course, attending sermons, church.

I know this past year has been tough with the world kind of shutting down. A lot of people aren’t getting out and about. They’re maybe not going to church, but churches have really stepped up. They’re putting it out online for you to watch. So, you could really attend two or three churches. You could watch them online in a fraction of the time.

So, don’t give any excuses. That’s something that humanity, we are all very good at, is making excuses. Look at Moses when he was sent, he said, “LORD, I am not someone who can speak clearly. I stutter, and I have some speech problems. I don’t know what to say.” And God said, “Don’t worry about it. I will tell you what to say.”

He will speak for you, and Moses still didn’t like it. He was still really worried about it, so He said, “Fine, take your brother Aaron with you.” But, the point is go, be obedient, and listen. So, if you go or do, you need to read the Bible, read the devotionals, watch some sermons, and start. That is the main thing.

So, you need to make that choice. It is a decision to make – whether or not you are going to commit yourself to the LORD, and I really hope that you do.

And, I hope that a part of committing to the LORD is going to be continuing to watch the Social Media Ministries’ teachings and sermons that we are going to be bringing to you. And, perhaps as an act of devotion, or sharing it with others, you will click on the share buttons and share them with your social media followers, your friends, your family – anyone else.

Because in doing that, you’ll be helping us achieve our mission, which is to share the living Word of God with as many people as possible by using social media to do that, to share the Scriptures of the Bible to all the ends of the earth if possible. I don’t know how many we can get to. I don’t know how far we can go, but with your help, we can get as far as we can get, and that’s the bottom line.

The point is we do it, and we do it in faith. And, you start. There’s no excuses. There’s no stopping. It is simply starting. And, what you’ll find because it’s what a lot of people find, and it’s what everybody finds – and I know that that’s a horrible argument – but, again, it’s done in faith. But, what you find is when you start, it becomes easier and easier and easier.

It’s like practice makes perfect. Now, although you may never be perfect, starting is the hardest part. And, once you start, you’ll continue, and pretty soon you’re five minutes a day or you’re 10 minutes a day. You’ll look at the clock, and maybe 20 minutes has gone by. You may have to stop yourself because you have to get on with your day.

But, just remember, starting is the hardest part. Once you start, continuing is easy. You have to roll the ball, and all of a sudden, it’s like a snowball going downhill. You just keep going and going. So, start. And, if part of starting is reading your Bible, watching these sermons, getting a devotional – do it.

And, continue to pray to God. Give Him your time. Allow Him to speak to you. Listen! Even if there’s nothing going on, clear your mind. So, when you have to start thinking about, “Oh, what are you cooking for supper?” Or, “What you’re going to do with your kids?” Uh, “You need to do this for work.” Quiet that.

It can be really hard. You almost need to meditate. Meditate with God. It is said meditate on the Scriptures day and night. Meditate with God. Allow him to speak to you, and your life will change. You will become so much more than you currently are.

Again, if you have any questions, if you have any comments, we look forward to hearing them from you. We really hope that you will consider subscribing to the channel, staying tuned for future videos, and share them with your friends and family.

Let’s pray:

Heavenly Father, thank you so much for this time together. Thank you for everything that you are doing in the lives of everybody viewing and in the lives of those involved with Social Media Ministries.

LORD, we ask that at this time, you would inspire those of us watching, everybody listening and following, that they would be willing to take that first step to commit to You, to start doing, no matter what it is, no matter how small, LORD, that they would open up their Bible, maybe for the first time in years, dust it off, and read, whether it’s one verse a day, one chapter a day, one book a day.

Whether they get a devotional and read for 10 minutes a day or 60 seconds a day. LORD allow them to take that first step, remove those barricades, break down those walls, and give them the courage, the desire, and the motivation to seek you every minute of every day.

And, LORD, we ask that you would bless each and every one of them, guide their lives, help them to follow you, and continue to allow us to bring inspiring messages to those who are willing and able to follow and listen.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

So, I really hope that you have a great rest of your day, that you’ll be inspired to follow, and to listen, and to allow God to start working in your life.

Thank you.
