Demons constantly search for ways to infiltrate your life and wreak havoc. If you open the door to them, you invite chaos and negativity into your world and the world of those around you.
It is crucial to remain vigilant and protect yourself from such malevolent and evil beings. Remember, what you allow in will ultimately shape your reality. Don’t open the door to demons, instead welcome positivity and light into your life.

We’ve got a great sermon series we’re kicking off, it is called “No Demons Allowed.” There are a lot of demons here on Earth, and we’re going to go over the next few weeks, the next month or so in-depth, on the different things that you could be doing to allow demons in your life, and we do not want any demons in our lives.
So the sermon series is called “No Demons Allowed,” and we’re kicking it off today with a great sermon called “Don’t Open The Door.” You need to be very careful what you do and when you do it. Why?
Because spiritual warfare is all around you, every minute of every day. Don’t believe me? Well, you don’t need to believe me, you need to believe the Bible, all right. And that’s where we’re preaching from.
So if you don’t have your Bible, dig it out, find it, get it, and dive into some Scriptures with us. If for some reason you can’t because you’re doing this while you’re working or you’re listening, while you’re driving or something, don’t worry.
All of the Scriptures, I’ll read them number one, number two, they’re going to be in the description below. So, navigate to our website or to our YouTube channel.
And you can find all of the referenced verses, and please look them up and read them later, as well as some verses around there to get the context and really understand what’s going on. But we’re going to start off in the Book of Job. Demons are all around you. Job 1:7.
Job 1:7, “Yahweh said to Satan, ‘Where have you come from?’ Satan answered the Lord, ‘From roaming through the Earth and going back and forth in it.’”
Where does Satan come from? He came from roaming the Earth. That’s where Satan has been. He has been roaming around. This was in the time of Job. This is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, books in the Bible.
Now, of course, I mean like first written books, time-wise, of course. Genesis would have been the first thing that happened in the timeline, in our time here on Earth, but Satan was roaming the Earth.
Let’s go to Job 2:2. “And Yahweh said to Satan, ‘Where have you come from?’ And Satan answered Yahweh ‘From roaming through the Earth and going back and forth in it.” Satan and his demons are right next to you. They are simply waiting for the opportune moment to attack. Now you say, “Wait a minute, I don’t feel Satan and his demons next to me all the time.”
Well, sometimes when you are closer to God in certain moments, like right now, for example, I’m preaching. I am, I’m being filled with the Holy Spirit. Now, the Holy Spirit, if you’re a Christian, if you’re a believer, the Holy Spirit is within you.
But there are moments when you pray in the Spirit or when you act in your spiritual gifts. Right now, one of my spiritual gifts would be preaching or presenting the Gospel, or talking about the Bible, wisdom, and knowledge. And then giving that to others or sharing it with others.
So when I’m operating in my spiritual gift, the spirit is fired up within me. There’s a fire, and you have a dim fire where it’s just the pilot light that is going, or you can crank that baby up and heat it to the max capacity, and when you are operating in your spiritual gifts, that fire is getting hotter.
When that fire gets hotter, the demons, they’re like, it’s like a demon repellent. The dim light, they come close, because the heat is there, but when you turn that furnace up, and you ignite the fire of the Holy Spirit within you.
You get hotter and hotter and hotter. And the heat bubble around you expands. And those demons get further and further away. Resist the devil. They will flee from you when God is with you. They are away from you, so guess what?
Draw near to God. He will draw near to you, and the demons flee. Okay, there are many, many Scriptures, we’ve got a lot of sermons about demons and things like that. So please check them out on our website.
But the point is, Satan and his demons are roaming the Earth. They are here, and they are waiting for you to get a little dim, or for you to fall away for a minute, or for you to be tempted, and then succumb to temptation, and then they will pounce.
Why? Because they fight dirty. They’re going to come after you, they are going to attack you. We have a sermon called “Always Under Attack.” One of the first sermons we did years ago, check it out on our website, “Always Under Attack.”
You need to be very careful not to let these demons into your life. Don’t open the door. Ephesians 4:27 says, “Do not give the devil a foothold.” You can’t. You can’t let these demons into your lives.
Do not give the devil a foothold because if you open the door and you let them in, it’s like the bad cousin or something that comes, and it’s like you give them an inch and they take a mile, or you let them stay for a night and it turns into a month. These demons will stay. They’re very active. Don’t open the door.
Now, there are some myths and maybe some truths that say demons are more active in darkness. Why? Well, because they come from darkness. So whether that’s a myth or a truth, you gotta be careful either way. Yes, they’re active in daytime.
Maybe they’re more active at night because here on Earth we’d think that maybe people aren’t watching at night, or we think we’re a little more free to act out on impulses at night or give to temptation at night, or most of the things on this Earth that are not very good happen at night.
Well, of course, then the demons are going to more active then, because more people are falling into temptation and are doing things against what God wants, and when more people do things against what God wants, the demons thrive.
You see what happens is, God tells us, “Be holy, because I am holy.” It’s way back in the book of Exodus. And then Jesus also repeated it, and said, “Be holy, because I am holy.”
We need to strive to be more like Jesus. We need to be holy, and with each step closer to holiness, we get rid of the stuff inside of us that looks like the devil. What does the devil look like? Sin.
What does the devil look like? Lies, deceit, trickery, conniving, conning, scamming. The devil looks like cheating, stealing. The devil looks like vices, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, pornography, all kinds of addiction. The devil looks like those things.
So if you become closer to holiness, you start eliminating those things in your life. Then, when the devil looks at you, you’re a mirror. When the devil looks at you, if the devil or his demons can see themselves in you, they smile.
Why? Because they can identify with you. And if they can identify with you, they’ve got you. They can pull you in. You’ve opened the door. Don’t open the door. So guess what?
You start getting rid of that stuff out of your life, you start becoming more holy. The devil looks at you and says, “I don’t see myself. I guess I better leave this one alone. I better flee.”
Because when the devil looks at you, instead of seeing the reflection of himself, he looks at you and sees Jesus because you’re becoming more like Jesus, and what happens then? Resist the devil. So you get rid of that stuff, and he will flee from you.
It’s a very, very important thing. Demons are very active. Their power is a dark power. In darkness, they are very comfortable. That’s why so many people make bad choices when it’s dark out. These demons are running wild, and they are influencing people everywhere. Let’s go to Ephesians, Chapter 6, Verse 12.
Chapter 6, Verse 12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, Against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil.”
In the Heavenly realms, there is darkness all around, and that is where your battle is. Your battle when you have an argument with a coworker or with a sibling, or with your spouse, or with anyone—the battle is not against the flesh and blood. There is something going on.
Either they are under attack, or they are under influence, or there’s something going on here. It’s a spiritual battle; you are under attack, always, and whenever there’s an argument, this isn’t flesh and blood. This is spiritual warfare.
So you gotta fight like Jesus fought. We have sermons on that, “Let God Fight.” Fight temptation. Check out the playlist, it’ll be in a card up here, or go to our website and type in “Fight” in the search bar.
Make no mistake, these demons are out to get you, and sometimes God allows demons to influence you or to do things to you. Just like Job. We read a couple verses, read that whole book.
And you will see we also have an entire sermon series about how “God Allows Satan.” So check that out. God allows things to happen in your life. Satan already has the unbelievers. He’s got them. If someone doesn’t believe in God, whose side are they on? There’s no fence.
You’re either a child of the light or you’re a child of the darkness. You’re either a child of God or a child of the devil. We have a sermon on that, “Child Of God or Child Of The Devil”, so you can check that one out as well.
Like I said, we’ve got a lot of sermons on spiritual warfare and demons, why do we spend so much time preaching about this? Well, Jesus spent a lot of time talking about this in the Bible. Casting out demons, talking to demons, and telling others about demons was a central part of his ministry.
Now, do you think it’s any different today? Do you think this world is different than when Jesus was here? Yes, of course. We’ve changed. We’ve evolved or advanced, if you will, but the primary function is the same. This world remains filled with evil. Jesus spent a lot of time talking about this and doing this, so guess what? We want to be like Jesus.
We’re going to spend a lot of time teaching you about these things as well. We also have a lot of sermons on money. We get criticized for that, but guess what? Jesus spent a lot of time talking about money. So we are going to do the same.
But right now, we’re talking about demons, and you guys, it’s so important. Don’t open the door. Do not give the devil a foothold. Don’t let him into your life, because it’s all around you. And how do you fight? How do you resist?
You’ve got to use Scripture exactly like Jesus did. You are a believer. Satan will come after you. He already has the unbelievers. Why does he already have them? Because they don’t believe in God. They’re a child of the darkness.
They are unknowingly on his side. They might be sitting on the bench, but they’re on his side. They’re on his team. Yes, he has active people working for him. There are messengers of darkness. There are false prophets.
There are people who worship him. That’s the ultimate goal of Satan and his angels. They want worship. You need to be worshiping God, so get on the right side of the field. Now, if you’re sitting on the bench, I urge you to get up on the side of Christ.
We want no one on the bench. Get out there and speak. Get out there and share the Word of God. Click the share buttons on these sermons. Do something because it is a battle, and our war is not against flesh and blood. It’s against the forces of Evil, the darkness all around us. Let’s go to Ephesians Chapter 2, Verses 1 and 2.
Ephesians 2:1-2 says, “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins. This is before you were a believer, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world, and the ruler of the kingdom of the air. The Spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.”
This can be a little confusing, so I’m going to read it again. “As for you you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world, and the ruler of the kingdom of the air. The Spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.”
You used to be dead. Now you’re alive in Christ, just like those other people who currently are dead. They follow what? The spirit of the air, the disobedient Satan and his demons, that which is at work within them. What is at work within you?
Hopefully God, because if God is at work within you, then that means this. This Bible is at work within you. The words in here, what does Hebrews say? “Sharper than any double-edged sword.” Use this. Come on.
This is your Sword of the Spirit. Use this and fight. Memorize it. Internalize it. Write it on your doorposts. Write it on your walls. Put it on your wrist. Wear bracelets.
Get going, and let Scripture be your guide. If you fill yourself with the Bible, Satan cannot see himself in you. You have been delivered from darkness into light. Let’s go to Colossians. Colossians 1:13.
Colossians 1:13, “I vouch for him, that he is working hard for you, and for those at Lacedonia and Heropolis.” Colossians 1-13—Who is this He? Who is working? Who is it? What are we talking about?
Is Paul referencing some other disciple? No, he’s talking about Christ Jesus. I mean specifically, he’s talking about Epaphras, “who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends his greetings.
“He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm. All the will of God, mature and fully assured,” and Paul is vouching for him. “He is working for you.” Now. Do these words expire?
This is specifically talking about someone. Paul is writing to them about someone that couldn’t be with them at that time. So he says, “Hey, don’t worry about him, he’s okay, and I vouch for him.
He’s praying for you, that you guys will be strong in the Spirit, that you will be able to fight and resist temptation.” Now this guy’s dead. Okay, this book was written a long time ago, couple thousand years.
Maybe it’s 19 hundred years. So is he still praying for you if he’s—he’s dead? No, but someone is. I am. Maybe your relatives are, people are praying for you, that you will be strong in the faith.
And you need to pray for others as well. And guess what? If no one is, if you say no one’s praying for you, the Holy Spirit is. The Holy Spirit is praying for you, the Holy Spirit is a person, and He is interceding for you, and that, more specifically, is what Paul is talking about.
The deep down within Epaphras, if Epaphras was a child of the devil, he wouldn’t be praying for these other believers, for these new converts—something within him is making him do that. What is it? The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the same force within anyone praying for you. When I pray for all of you people out there, that are watching, listening for the people who are yet to have watched and listen, for the people that see these videos when you share them, when I’m praying for them, it’s not me. It is the Spirit within me.
The Holy Spirit is praying, is interceding for you, that is on your side, that you will be able to fight, that you will be able to work hard, and get through.
Let’s go to Ephesians 5:8, “Why do we need to be so worried about this?” We’re not really worried, but why are we concerned with what’s going on? Why do we pay attention to the matters of this world, to the fight that we have against the darkness? Not flesh and blood, but against those unseen forces? This is why.
Because Ephesians 5:8. Let’s see, what does it say? Ephesians 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. live as children of the light.” You gotta live as children of the light.
Remember your enemy, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour, for something to devour. All right, if he’s doing that, if he’s looking around for something to devour, who’s he going to devour? The people already on his side? A lion doesn’t devour his own lion.
Now, yes, sometimes they do when they’re fighting for the alpha position, or if they mate a female and then a new alpha takes over. The new alpha will kill the offspring of the other female.
Why? Because it wasn’t his.
He knows he’s stronger, he just beat the alpha. He’s going to wipe them all out and start over. That’s what the devil does. He wants to wipe you out. He wants to kill you and take you away from God.
And any of them that are already on his side, that are already his, what’s he doing with those? Protect them. That’s what he’s doing. He’s protecting the unbelievers. So when you start going after the unbelievers, what’s going to happen?
You’re going to get into a fight. Why? Because the devil is defending his territory. Exactly like a lion. Study this. There’s a reason why the Bible says “Prowls around like a roaring lion,” and not “Flies about like an eagle.”
No, it’s because the temperament of lions. Look at how it works. The devil thinks he’s the alpha. He’s taking over. He’s protecting all of the unbelievers, which are his own offspring. His child, his children of the darkness.
When you start to go after them and try to make them your own, a child of the light, now it’s not yours, it’s God’s. But you brought them in. You are going to be met with resistance. The devil does not want you to take them from him.
God wants you to. It’s your job to share, so guess what? When you’re out and about, when you’re sharing the Gospel, expect to fight. Do it with other believers. Do it armed with the Scripture, but when you’re out and about on your own, don’t open the door. Do not give the devil a way in. Keep it closed tightly. How do you do that? You stay in the Bible. You stay in prayer.
You stay filled with the Holy Spirit. Make that fire burn bright, so that they flee from you. If you engage in any kind of activity, and there’s something inside of you that you’re like.
“This doesn’t feel right. Something’s off about this,” then you need to run. Get out of there. Don’t open the door. Stay away from those activities if you know something is sinful, if you know something is against what Jesus would do.
We have a sermon, “What Would Jesus Do?” Check it out. If you know something is against that, then you need to stay away. You need to be fully conscious and aware at all times.
This is why things like drunkenness or being high, you have to stay sober. Because when you get inebriated, what takes over? Your flesh, and you will give in to those desires. You will. So, can you have a drink? Fine, that’s okay. But don’t get drunk.
Exactly like Paul says, you gotta be mindful, fully conscious, and aware if you’re around an alcoholic. And you’re going to start having drinks as a Christian, and you’re trying to bring them to Christ?
Not a good idea. Because guess what? They’re going to be like, “Well, what’s the difference?” You’ve got to be fully conscious and aware. It’s exactly like clean and unclean foods, fully conscious and aware.
Don’t lead people into sin by doing things if they don’t understand yet. This is a fight. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you and to live through you. Engage in discernment, and know every situation.
Is it what Jesus would do? Or is it not? And only do that, what Jesus would do. Don’t open the door. Don’t give the enemy a foothold in your life.
Let’s pray.
Lord Jesus, thank you so much for this message. This message of power. Please, have it inspire people to shut the door. That they would not open the door, that they would keep it closed and keep the enemy away.
That their fire would burn bright within them, the power of the Holy Spirit. So that they would operate fully in their gifts, that they would have labors that produce a lot of fruit.
That they would bring more people to you, and that they would become more like Jesus, closer to holiness each and every day, and further from the devil.
And Lord, when they come under attack, please give them the power to resist, and the power to overcome.
Lord, inspire them to help others, and to also learn from the other sermons that we have provided for them, to have as a valuable resource. To fight the enemy, to win souls, and to bring more people into the Kingdom of Heaven.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thanks so much for being with us today. This is the first of a sermon series called “No Demons Allowed,” so continue to come back week after week, and we will help you keep those demons out of your life.
Thank you, and God bless.
