In Micah 6:8, the prophet declares, “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” This verse encapsulates God’s expectation for righteous living: justice, mercy, and humility.
Jesus, in His earthly ministry, emphasized the importance to always do right, teaching that righteousness comes from the heart (Matthew 5:20). He instructed His followers to love their neighbors as themselves and to even love their enemies (Matthew 5:44), showing that doing right transcends social and personal boundaries.
The Apostle Paul also urged believers to walk in the light of God’s truth. In Romans 12:17, he writes, “Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.” Paul stresses that when you always do right you are a great witness to others and a reflection of Christ’s love in the world.
Ultimately, the charge to always do right is not merely about outward actions, but about honoring God in all things. As Jesus said in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commands.”

This is a great message we have in store for you. Thanks for being here. Please take advantage of those share icons below and reach other people. Help us reach more people all around the world with the gospel of Christ.
That’s our mission. That’s what we’re trying to do. That’s what we’re working on doing, and we need your help to do it. Because you have a wider sphere of influence than we have. Why?
Because you know people that we don’t know. And so, if you can share our sermons or our ministry minutes or something like that to help reach other people, or even if you just refer them to us, our website, whatever it is, when you do that, you are allowing Social Media Ministries to get the Word of God in front of more viewers.
And that is what we want to do. We want more people knowing and understanding the Word of God so that we can help them get out there and do the Word of God, making disciples of all nations.
That’s what we exist to do. That’s what you exist to do. Take ground and build the Kingdom. So, start doing it right now. Use those share icons below. In addition, hit that like button, bell icon, subscribe button. If you have any comments or questions, of course, please put them below.
Also, I really encourage you to take the time to take a look at the description at the very bottom, where there is a list of references. There is a list of references for the verses that we go through in every single sermon.
So, it’s at the bottom on our website, or in the YouTube, it might be kind of in the middle, depending on where you’re watching, listening, viewing, etc.
But the point is, it says “Referenced Verses.” You can go on there, you can click on them, you can look them up, you can spend more time diving into the Word of God. Because we have a lot of them today, more so than other days, but there are several every single day. Lots of Bible verses for you to read, learn, and understand.
So, today we are talking — what are we talking about? “Always Do Right.” Always doing right. What is right? How do you know what is right? Like, turn to the right? Oh no, no, I’m not talking about that.
Always do right, like do what the Bible says you need to do — the will of God. How do you know what the will of God is? God’s will is written in the Bible. So, if you do what the Bible says, you are doing God’s will. It’s very, very simple, guys. Let’s go to a verse right away. We’re going to kick it off. Deuteronomy 6:18.
Deuteronomy 6:18 says, “Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land that the Lord promised on an oath to your ancestors.”
You say, “That’s Old Testament. It doesn’t apply to me.” Hey, wait a second. “Do what is right and good in Yahweh’s sight” — that still applies to you — “so that it may go well with you.”
You know what? If you do what is right, it goes well with you. When you do what God wants you to do, life seems to work a lot better. When you are working against God, when there is sin in your life, things are often more troublesome, more tiresome. Because, guess what? There is a law of reaping and sowing. That means that your actions have consequences.
And even though you say, “Oh, my God loves me. He would never put me under a curse, or He would never do anything wrong to me.” That is true. But if you go out and do something like you break someone’s window, that is wrong.
You are going to have to pay the consequences. “Oh, well, God would never want me to have to do something like that, to pay for something that isn’t mine, or that wouldn’t…” You know what? You reap what you sow.
You just sow a broken window. You’re going to have to pay to make it right. Whereas, if you always do right, it’s going to continue to go well with you, no matter what. Let’s go to James 4:17, “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”
That’s powerful. Once you learn what is right, if you don’t do it — not even if you do the opposite, but if you don’t do it — that is sin. So, okay, you learn that something is right.
You say, “Okay, well, what is right?” Well, it’s God’s will that we help others. All right, so let’s say you’re at the grocery store, and there’s someone trying to get something off of a shelf, and they can’t reach it.
And so, you see that, and you laugh at them. Okay, that’s a sin. You just made fun of someone. That’s laughing at — that’s a sin directly. Pretty obvious. Okay, that would be like doing the opposite. You didn’t help them; you did something completely contrary.
All right, another example, same situation. Someone’s at the store trying to reach up onto a shelf, and you see them, and you just walk the other way. You didn’t actively do a sin by laughing at them or by making fun of them, all right?
But you didn’t help them, and you know God would want you to help them. That’s the right thing, but you didn’t do it. That means that’s sin for you. So, guess what? We just made this a lot harder.
That’s New Testament — not making it harder, but doing right. Jesus simplified it all down. He said, “Love God, love your neighbor.” Who is your neighbor? Everyone. So, that person in your grocery store that needed help, if you love them, you would help them. Very simple.
I could even take another example. You see, they’re struggling for something. Instead of going over there and laughing at them or helping them or not helping them — three situations — now you go over there and take it and put it somewhere else. That’s even worse.
All right, so there are a lot of situations, but there’s only one right thing to do. All the others are sin to you, now that you know what is right. So, if you know the right thing to do, and you do something else, or you don’t do anything at all, then you are committing a sin.
Once you learn God’s will, you must do it. Be a doer of the Word. We have a sermon on that, “Be A Doer Of The Word.” Once you know God’s will, once you learn God’s will, it is sin for you not to do the will of God.
So, if you are given the opportunity to do God’s will, and you don’t do it because you’re tired or lazy or something comes up in the way, that is sin for you. God told you — He told you, “Preach the gospel,” which is the good news, the Evangelion, to all creation.
He told you to do that in the Great Commission. So, if you’re out there walking around, and you see someone, and you know they’re not a believer, and you don’t share with them, that is sin to you. Wow, that’s pretty harsh.
If you loved them, would you let them go to hell? No, you wouldn’t. God says, “Love them, share.” You say, “I don’t know how.” Start. You say, “Well, what if they reject me?” Who cares? “Hey, man, can I talk to you for a second?” “No, I’m busy.” Done.
“Hey, can I pray for you?” “I don’t want prayer.” “Hey, do you know who Jesus is?” “I do.” “Is He your Lord and Savior?” “No.” “Do you want Him to be?” “No.” Okay, try. It’s real simple. It takes 30 seconds.
There’s a movie, “10 Seconds of Courage.” It’s not the movie, but in a movie, “We Bought a Zoo” or something, Matt Damon, he says, “It just takes 10 seconds of courage.” Maybe it’s 30 seconds of courage, but 10 is better. Go up there, start the conversation. Signs and wonders follow those who do the will of God.
You go up and start, the Holy Spirit is with you, pushing you along, giving you inspiration, showing the signs and wonders. You just have to step out in faith and do it. God wants you to always do the right thing. That’s what He wants. He wants you to always do the right thing.
Let’s go to Galatians 6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Don’t ever get tired of it. God always wants you to do the right thing. Don’t ever get tired of doing right. Do not become weary in doing good, because at the proper time, you will reap a harvest.
Most of the time, you will see the blessings that you are being to other people, and that itself is a blessing to you. But if you’re going out to help the poor, to feed the hungry, to clothe the needy, or whatever, to evangelize, and you’re doing it just so you feel good — “Well, I got out there, I did my duty.” — No, that’s wrong. That’s sinful. That’s a sinful desire. You’re desiring for you.
No, go out there with a purely and truly altruistic mindset to do the will of God, and guess what? You will be blessed. Let’s go to 2 Thessalonians 3:13, “And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.” Always do right. Never tire of it. Never tire of doing good.
Especially if you know what the good is, then you must get out there and do it. And how do you know what is right? You have to know and understand your Bible. Check out a sermon series we have.
It’s two parts: “Read Your Bible, Understand Your Bible” — how to read and how to understand your Bible. So, that’s how you can know to always do right. Always, not sometimes, always.
In addition to doing the right thing yourself, though, we’re going to take it one level higher and say that you are also to advise others on the right thing to do. So, not only do you need to know what is right, you need to do what is right, and then you need to help others do what is right as well. Let’s go to Proverbs 12:26.
Proverbs 12:26, “The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.” Other versions say that they advise their friends. You need to help other people do what is right. Counsel them. Choose your friends wisely so that you can do good together.
If you see someone doing something wrong, and you know it is wrong, then it is your duty to help him or her do right. You need to correct them. 2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.”
Now, a little thing I want to point out. When you see someone doing something wrong, you need to correct them, yes. But what did this verse say? Most people only read half of it.
They say, “Oh, all Scripture is useful for teaching, correcting, and rebuking.” So, they go over there, and they rebuke that person, they tell them what they’re doing wrong, they try to correct them.
No, that’s not what this is saying. It is saying “in righteousness,” and it is saying “all Scripture.” For some reason, people forget those. They say, “Oh, we need to go and teach and correct and rebuke and train,” and they do it harshly.
No, that’s not what Jesus would do. Jesus says, “Love God, love others.” If you love them, you’re not going to be harsh on them. You’re not going to do it like that.
You are going to use Scripture, because it’s what the Scripture is useful for. So, you will see someone doing wrong, you will say, “All right, I found some verses.” You’re going to go over there. “Hey, this is what I’ve noticed. This is what the Bible says. What do you think?” And they are going to come to the conclusion, “I guess I screwed up.”
You’re not going over there to convict them. That’s not your job. That’s the Holy Spirit’s job. Your job is to use the Scripture to point out what they did wrong, to show them. They will discern from the Bible verse.
You will tell them, “Hey, ‘Thou shalt not steal,’” and they’ll say, “Yeah, I guess I did steal, right? So, what do you think about that?” “Well, I shouldn’t have done it, right?” Repent and help them; correct them.
Another thing is, you don’t do it in front of a bunch of other people. You don’t go and parade their problems in front of others, saying, “Hey, look, this is what this person did. They messed up.
They stole from so-and-so. They stole someone’s time. They did this. They clocked in five minutes late, and they got paid for their whole salary time, or they clocked…” Whatever. No, it’s between you and them. Let’s go to Matthew 18:15.
Matthew 18:15 says, “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, then you have won them over.” If your brother or sister — does that mean biological? Yes and no. Your brother or sister in Christ.
So, a couple of things here. The Scripture is used for training, teaching, correcting, rebuking in righteousness. If your brother or sister — this is saying in Christ — because if you take the Scripture to someone who doesn’t believe in the Bible, and you say,
“Hey, based on the Bible, what you’re doing is wrong,” they are going to say, “I don’t care, go away,” and you are not going to get anywhere with that.
Now, if you take and evangelize to them and preach the good news, then you will get somewhere. Once they become a brother or sister in Christ, then you can use the Scriptures to teach, train, correct, and rebuke in righteousness, in a loving and kind way, exactly like Jesus would do.
But if you go to someone who is not a brother or sister, and you start teaching, training, correcting, and rebuking with the Bible, they are not going to hear it. You need to first help them get into the faith. How do you do that? God told you to do that. Always do right. That’s the Great Commission.
God told you, “Preach the gospel to all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to do all that I have commanded you to do.” So, if you do that, then they become part of the faith. They become a brother or sister in Christ.
And if your brother or sister does something wrong, you can bring it up to them, between the two of you, and you can use Scripture to teach, to train, to correct, and rebuke.
All right, so, if you fail to do what is right, now that you know what is right — if you know what is right, which means you know your Bible — when you know what is right, if you fail to do the right thing or you fail to tell others what is right, then it is sin for you.
That means if you are not using Scriptures to correct others, if you see someone doing wrong, and you know they’re a believer and you don’t correct them, that is a sin for you.
Because you are told to use the Scripture to help correct them. Now, they may not listen, but it is your job to at least put it out there for them. Let’s go to Romans 7:19.
Romans 7:19, “For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do — this I keep on doing.” From verse 14 all the way to 20, powerful, powerful Scriptures.
We’re not going into them now, but I encourage you to read that. “I do not do the good I want to do.” That means Paul is saying that when you know the right thing to do, you need to do it.
You know you need to correct other people. You know you need to use Scripture. You know you need to cast out demons. You know you need to heal the sick. You know you need to raise the dead. You know you need to preach the gospel. You know you need to do all of these things to love God and love others.
You know you need to help others do the same. If you see someone else struggling, and you don’t do it, that’s sin. If you see someone else doing the wrong thing, and you don’t help them correct it, that’s sin for you. According to James, if you know the good you ought to do, and you don’t do it, it is sin.
Therefore, always do right. If you don’t, you are not only failing to do the right thing, but you’re missing an opportunity to share the gospel. That’s also something God asked you to do.
We referenced this a few times, but let’s go back to it because it is excellent. What am I talking about? Well, I’m talking about the Great Commission, and we get that from Matthew 28:19-20.
Matthew 28:19-20, it says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Go, make disciples of all nations. That doesn’t mean make converts. Do you get that? Billy Graham said his greatest regret was that he made converts, not disciples.
When you bring someone to Christ, yes, that’s great. I love it when people accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. All right, all of heaven rejoices over one repentant sinner. So, people are rejoicing, heaven is rejoicing, angels are rejoicing.
But you just made a brand new baby. Who’s going to raise that baby? That’s why Jesus says, “Go and make disciples of all nations.” You see, this is something the church messes up, too. This is something the church, meaning the body of Christ, and probably your local church, make disciples of all nations.
That means use Scripture to teach, train, correct, and rebuke. It doesn’t mean get someone to say yes to Jesus, walk away, and never talk to them again, or, “Hey, guess what? I know you said yes to Jesus. Here’s a Bible. Good luck. See you later. I’m on to the next one.” No, someone’s got to raise those babies.
Jesus is commanding you to do it. Make disciples of all nations. You say, “I don’t know how to do that.” Then, guess what? Social Media Ministries is here for you. Invite them in. Send them to our Discord server. Send them to our social media. Send them to our sermons. They can watch these sermons and learn and be discipled.
You don’t have to be a preacher. You don’t have to be a church. You need to introduce them. You need to walk with them. You need to help them. You need to refer them. Get them built up in the faith. So, the next time you encounter a situation where there is right and wrong, what are you going to do? Always do right. Let’s go to Hebrews 10:26.
Hebrews 10:26 says, “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left.” That means two things.
Once you’ve received the knowledge of the truth, like once you know what the Bible says, just like James, once you know the good you ought to do, if you keep on sinning — you know you’re supposed to tell the truth, but you lie anyway.
You know you are supposed to be sexually pure, but you’re having sex outside of marriage anyway. You know that you are supposed to wait for marriage to have sex, but you’re in college, and you’re having fun, and you have multiple partners. You know that marriage is between a man and a woman, but you are homosexual anyway. You know — you get the idea.
When you continually choose to sin, but you know the right thing, then “no sacrifice for sins is left.” It means that you have made worthless the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It means that if you choose to continue living in sin, there is nothing that can sacrifice for that, because you are willingly choosing to continually disobey God.
You are choosing to go against God. You are actively choosing to do the opposite. Eventually, that turns into something that is unforgivable, which is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
Because the Holy Spirit is telling you one thing, and you are saying, “No, this is what I’m doing. This is the right thing,” and eventually, it becomes a blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. No sacrifice for sins is left.
Now, if you’re an unbeliever, and you don’t know, and you’re doing that, you can repent and know, and now you must change. Now, that doesn’t mean we’re not going to screw up. You might slip up. We still all sin. But you don’t willingly, actively choose to live a lifestyle of sin.
You always choose to do right as much as you can. And yes, sometimes you’re still going to screw up. Sometimes you’ll be lazy. Sometimes you’ll be led away into temptation. Sometimes you’ll fall short.
But that’s okay because there is forgiveness. The next time, you don’t. You do it. You do right. Don’t give Satan that victory. So, step up. Make the effort to do the right thing. Take advantage of every opportunity to always do right. Hebrews 13:6, last verse.
Hebrews 13:6, “So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” God will help you.
When you see someone who is not a believer, get over there, share God with them, make them a believer, because God will help you. That’s what He wants. That’s His will. You just need to take that step of faith, get out there, and always do right.
Let’s pray.
Father, thank You so much for this inspirational message. I ask that each and every person watching and listening would be convicted, that they would be struck, that they would be inspired to always do right, that they would want to deepen their knowledge, that they would look at their life and say,
“Hey, is there something in here that I’m not doing that is actually a sin for me because I’m not doing it? Is there something in here that I should be doing? Is there something in here that I’m actively doing that is sin?”
Because if so, they want to kill it. They want to crucify that flesh, those sinful desires, that sin nature. And Lord, help them live on fire for You. Have the Holy Spirit be their helper, their guide, the whispering in their ear, the one telling them, “This is what you need to do.”
And Lord, inspire them to know and study the Scriptures so that they will know Your will, and give them the motivation and the desire to get out there and do Your will, to raise those babies, not make converts, but make disciples, that they would make new converts and turn them into disciples of You, that they would be inspired to share You in all places they can, and to always do right.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Any questions or comments, feel free to put them on the YouTube channel on this video or on our Discord server in the sermon discussion area.
