Life can weigh heavily on our hearts. Whether it is worries about the future, burdens from the past, or anxiety in the present, God can take it. He never intended for us to carry these loads.

Scripture invites us to lay down our burdens at His feet. In 1 Peter 5:7, we are told, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” God is not distant from our pain; He wants to take it.

Jesus gave the same invitation: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

No emotion is too overwhelming, no fear too great, and no burden too heavy for the Lord. He is our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), a present help in trouble.

When we bring our struggles to Him in prayer and faith, He offers peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:6–7). Give it to Him, and experience the peace only He can provide.

Remember that God can take it: stress, sorrow, fears, anger, etc.. We never have to carry it alone. Trust the One who is strong enough to carry it all.

Together we can fulfill the Great Commission by sharing Jesus, building the kingdom, making disciples of all nations, and, of course, taking ground. So it’s sharing Jesus, making disciples, taking ground, and building the kingdom. Together we can make that happen.

Today, we are in the midst of a sermon series about comfort in hard times. We all go through hard times, trials, troubles, tribulations in our lives, and it is something that–it’s just a part of life because we live in a fallen world, and one day, we will have no more trouble.

As it says in–in the Bible, that the lamb and the lion will be together one day. There will be no more crying, no more tears, no more pain, but until then, we have trouble.

We are in a war. This is the battleground, and like it or not, you are a part of it, and if you became a Christian, if you are a Christian, you are in the Lord’s army.

Now you’re either not doing anything, not doing your job, or you are in an active role fighting, doing what you’re supposed to be doing. Now, no matter what, you still need to seek some comfort in hard times. And so, today, we’re talking about how God can take it.

If you’ve missed the previous messages, please check them out. I’ll put a playlist link up here that’s “Comfort In Hard Times.” Otherwise, you can go search that on our website, but this is part four.

So we’re on number four in our series, and the thing to remember, that when you are going through hard times, sometimes you might need to just let it out.

God can take it. God is completely understanding, forgiving, and compassionate. He is a God of mercy and of unconditional love. Let’s go to a couple of verses right away—Psalms 103:8.

Psalms 103:8: “The Lord is compassionate and gracious. Slow to anger and abounding in love.” Slow to anger, abounding in love—God has unconditional love for you. Remember to please Him. Keep His commandments.

Do what the Bible says because that’s what a good servant does. You are a servant of Christ. If you love God, you will keep His commandments, so show your love for Him. He loves you no matter what, but the more you can do for Him, the better your life will be.

Trust me on that. It’s not a conditional thing, but there are several promises in the Bible that says if you do these things, then these things will happen.

“Seek first His kingdom. All these will be added to you as well,”—doesn’t mean you’re just going to get all these—no. Seek first His kingdom. Meditate on the Bible, then you’ll be prosperous and successful.

It doesn’t mean you’ll just be prosperous and successful. No, keep this book of law always on your lips. The Bible says this stuff. The Bible does not lie. The Bible is Truth.

This is the Word of God. This is Jesus. Speak the Word. Do the word. Be a great ambassador for Christ. Let’s go to 1 John 4:8. 1 John 4:8 says, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

How do you show love? Do what God says. God is love. That is like our gold standard of–of love. What can we compare–it is– what is love, God is love personified.

That’s it. You it’s–it’s the–it’s the end-all-be-all. God is love, and how do we show love for others? By being like Jesus, having compassion on them, caring for them. When Jesus was here, He showed the love of the Father to everyone.

So just remember, God can take it. If something, if you, if you need to seek comfort during hard times and you– nothing else seems to be working, and you might need a moment, God can take it. He loves you no matter what. Let’s go to Romans 5:8.

Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this, while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” Think about that. You didn’t have to do anything to prove yourself worthy while you were still a sinner—the worst of the worst. Christ died for you.

That’s unconditional love. That would be like you—if you have someone you absolutely despise in this Earth, that you don’t like, you don’t get along with, there you would consider them to be your enemy—that would be like you dying for them as an act of love.

You say, “I don’t really identify with that.” Just think about it. When you are a sinner, you are an enemy of God because you are a child of the devil, an enemy of everything that is right.

You are living according to sin, but Christ died for you.

You can turn and repent and accept that and then choose to live for Christ. There are no conditions. All you need to do is repent. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He will always understand. He will always forgive you. We have a–a forgiveness series. Now you might say, “Oh, but what about the unforgivable sin?”

Okay fine. Yes, if you choose to continually rebel against God and blaspheme the Holy Spirit or attribute the works of God to the devil or attribute the works of the devil to God, then yes, if you continue to do that, you will not be forgiven because you are choosing to continue to live against Christ. Now, if you just do that accidentally and then repent, that’s—you can receive forgiveness.

But if you choose to continually walk against what God wants you to do, you are choosing to be away from God, and God is granting that desire. So can you be forgiven? Yes, but you need to choose that. You say the other one would be unforgiveness if you choose not to forgive other people.

Then your heavenly Father will not forgive you either because you are choosing unforgiveness, and so God, in His infinite love, says, “I respect your free will, and you choose not to forgive or be forgiven.” Don’t do that. Don’t be so ignorant.

God will always show compassion and mercy to you. You just need to be there to receive it. You need to be willing to receive it just like the Bible says. You might not receive because you are not willing. You are not ready to receive. Let’s go to Romans 8:35-39.

Romans 8:35-39: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? as it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Paul is saying here that no matter what, there is nothing—is it trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword—no height nor depth, angels nor demons, past, present, future, powers—anything else in all creation—nothing can separate us from God’s love. There’s another verse in the Bible that says no one can snatch them out of my hand.

But guess what? If you choose to continually walk away, you separate yourself—just like the Bible says, “Draw near to me, and I will draw near to you. Forsake me, and I will forsake you”—because if you are drawing away from God, God will give you that desire. He will allow you to have that free will. So yes, nothing can separate you from God.

Nothing can pull you away from God, but you can pull yourself away. Never do that. Seek Him with everything, and if you need to lash out, God can take it. If you’re having a rough time and your life isn’t going like you thought it would, then maybe you need to think how God thinks.

Renew your mind and have your life go like God wants it to go, because remember, this isn’t your life. This is a life you are living for God. But if, for some reason, you’re way too stressed out and you need some release, use God because God can take it. Let’s go to Philippians 4:6.

Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” With prayer and petition, in every situation, present it to God. He can take it, so it’s okay if you need to get upset with God.

If you have a moment, if things in your life are just too overwhelming, you can’t take it, you can’t do it on your own. We know that, but the Bible also says, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

So if you need to just–let it go, let off some steam, unwind, get alone in a place by yourself, and let God have it. Give it to God. Cast all your anxiety on Him. Why? Because He cares for you. Let Him have it. God understands.

Now I’m not saying you need to be cursing out God. No, that’s not what I’m saying. That’s–that’s not good, but if you are in anguish, in frustration, it’s much better to give your complaints to God than to complain to other people because we are not to complain.

No muttering, no murmuring—we have a sermon on that. Remember what happened in the Old Testament? People were complaining. God says, “I can’t take this.” Open up the ground, swallow them up. Why?

Because they were complaining to other people, sowing discord among the believers, causing problems—strife, backbiting, gossip, slander, malice—every kind of evil, and God said, “I will not stand for this. Earth, open. Swallow them up. Close up. Done.”

But if you have hard times, you can complain to God. Just don’t complain to others, and eventually, as you get more aligned with God and as you renew your mind to Him, you won’t be complaining to Him anymore because you’ll understand what’s going on.

You will have the mind of Christ. Oftentimes, if there are—is—so much trouble and tension and trial and tribulation in your life, it means you need to seek God more so you can understand what’s going on.

So if in the meantime, it’s becoming too frustrating for you, God can take it. He wants to take it. He wants to bear your burdens.

His yoke is easy, and His burdens are light. He wants to carry them for you. Let Him work with God. Let God fight for you. We have a sermon series on that: “Let God Fight.” Check that out—excellent—you need to allow God to fight.

Psalms—David—he had many, many times in Psalms where he just poured out to God. Psalms 22. I’m not going to read them all, but I’ll give you the chapters.

Psalms 22, Psalms 38, Psalms 44, 77, and 109 are several that he just poured out to God. Now, am I saying you should go and pray those psalms? You know what, if you need to, if you need to have some release, go through Psalms 22.

Read that. Pray it out. Go through Psalms 38. Read it. Pray it out. Psalms 44. Read it. Take the time. Psalm 77—read those verses. Psalms 109—pray those. Those are—that was David just pouring out to God.

Hopefully you become in such a place where you have the mind of Christ, you have the Holy Spirit within you, you are living by the Word of God, you are an ambassador for Christ, more than conquerors, that you will never have to pray those prayers or those psalms of crying out to God in distress because you know your identity in Christ.

You know God is with you wherever you go. You know you have the Holy Spirit. You know that you are anointed. You know that you are called for a purpose.

You know that, but in the process, if you don’t know and–and you need to go through and–and pray some of those on your journey, so to speak, God can take it. But the goal is that you know your identity, firmly planted in Christ, and that you will not have to lash out against God.

You should never be against God anyway, but you will never have to unload against God or–or cast all your burdens, because guess what? When you are living and abiding in Him, He daily bears your burdens, and so you will never be overwhelmed.

Yes, there might be times of–of stress and a lot to do, but if you trust God, you know, like no matter what, He daily bears our burdens.

Meaning He’s got you. So you just live in peace. You live in divine peace. You live in divine health. You live in divine safety. You live in divine prosperity. God meets your every need. So many verses—He daily bears our burdens.

Abide in Him. He is the true vine, and when you abide in Him, you will not be cut off. But if you don’t abide in Him, and you’re not bearing fruit, you are a branch, and what happens?

God the Father cuts it off to prune so that the ones that are bearing fruit will be more fruitful. Therefore, abide in Him. He will abide in you, and you will bear much fruit. He will daily bear your burdens.

He will meet your every need. He will provide for you in everything. You shall never lack. You will lack no good thing. Identify with those, type those in, “You will lack no good thing verse”—and–and, and get those verses.

Put them on a card in your pocket, carry them around, and when you start thinking about, like, “Oh no, I wonder if I’m going to have enough to pay…”—boom! “I will lack no good…” Trust. Trust in the Lord always.

Lean not on your own understanding. Lean on His understanding. Renew your mind so you have the mind of Christ, and you will be prosperous, successful, healthy, healed—all these things. All these promises will be yours if you receive them.

So if you need to unload your pains, your problems, your worries, and your concerns to God, God can take it.

1 Peter 5:7: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” Eventually, you will never have anxiety because what is anxiety? Anxiety is a manifestation of a demon that bears that name—the characteristic of the demon Anxiety is anxiety.

When you have a spirit in you, you will manifest the characteristic of the name of that spirit.
So if you have the demon of anxiety, you will have anxiety. You will manifest anxiety. If you have the demon of—pick one.

If you have the Holy Spirit, you will manifest the characteristic of the name of that spirit. What is that? Holiness. When you have the Holy Spirit, you will manifest holiness because you will be being—uh—directed and led and guided by the Holy Spirit. “You will be holy because I am holy,” as Jesus says.

God loves you and cares for you more than you can ever imagine. He can take whatever you have, so if you need to let it go, it’s better to have a meltdown and lose your temper with God than with someone else.

God has unconditional love for you. He will understand if you lose your temper. On your spouse—that could cause problems. You lose your temper on your boss–that could cause problems. You lose your temper with your child—that could scar them.

Remember, you are Christ’s ambassador. You are a representative of Christ to those other people. If you need to have a meltdown, do it with God.

Let’s go to Hebrews 4:15: “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weakness, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.”

So think about that in every situation, if something happens and you’re about to lose your temper, maybe you, you, you just bought a brand new–something, and your child breaks it. Don’t lose your temper with your child. They don’t know any better.

Remember, you are Christ’s ambassador. Act in love. Christ has been tempted in every situation just like that, yet He did not sin.

So remember that your high priest has gone through everything you can think of and everything you have gone through. Follow the example of Christ. Renew your mind so that you have the mind of Christ, that your thoughts will be His thoughts and your ways will be His ways.

Why? Because you have been transformed and renewed. God has unconditional love for you. If you blow up or–or lash out at people, they may react negatively.

You will be reaping something—sin—and then that’s not good. You’ll be sowing anger or sowing hatred or sowing the outburst, and that will come back on you. Why? The law of sowing and reaping—if you start yelling at someone, what’s going to happen?

Chances are, they’re going to react defensively and start yelling back at you. But if you have something happen and you’re so angry, but you react in love, what will happen?

That will be totally unexpected for them, and they won’t know what to do because they might have expected you to lash out in anger, and they were prepared for a fight. But you neutralize the whole thing by being like Jesus. How about that?

So don’t lash out on other people. Behave like Jesus because if you do that, you will not only be sinning yourself, you set a bad example as an ambassador of Christ, and you might also be provoking or enticing them to sin as well.

That’s not good, so give it to God. He can handle it in more ways than one, and abide in Him, and He will daily bear your burdens so you won’t have to deal with it. In fact, oftentimes, when you continue to abide in Him, God will meet needs before they arise.

He will have prepared the way for you. That’s what the Bible says. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will prepare that way for you so that when things happen a–a need will be filled.

Like you might receive a blessing and be like, “Wow, this is a great blessing,” and then something happens, and it’s like that was taken away. But if that thing was taken away before the blessing, it would have been a really big hardship, but because the blessing came and the thing happened, now you’re okay.

Like, for example, maybe you get a big bonus at work—500 bucks or 5,000 bucks or whatever. And then all of a sudden, something in your life happens that costs that amount of money. God provided for that need before the problem came because He saw it coming, and you trusted in Him.

See, oftentimes we live our lives like, “Oh no, I have a need. I have an expense, and now I’m waiting for God to provide,” or “God will provide.” How cool would it be if you lived in a way where God provided before the need came? And then when the need came, you recognized God already provided for this.

How amazing is that? I’m saying, I’m telling you that can happen. Trust in God. God daily bears your burdens—daily. Not weekly like not, oh no, Monday your car got totaled, and so now you don’t know what you’re going to do.

“We’d better wait next week because then that’s when God will bear that burden and provide for me to get a new car.” No, maybe God’s already provided for you to get a new car. He gave you a bonus. He gave you a—whatever it is—and all of a sudden, then something happens and now boom!

God gave you that provision, or God gave you a second car some—somehow, and then all of a sudden, your first car conks out, and you’re like, “Man,” well, wait a minute.

You don’t really need that extra one. God already provided. There are ways. God provides. God is there for you at all times, and just remember that. Trust Him in all situations, in all circumstances, and if you are going through some type of hard time, remember God can take it.

Let’s pray. Father, thank you so much that you are a loving God, a God of unconditional love for us, and that you understand that you are merciful in compassion and mercy, that you show that to us. Thank you so much that you are our example as well.

I pray that each and every person would think about this, would consider this, and that if they are in a place in their life where they just need to blow off some steam and let off some stress, thank you for being that safe environment for them to do that.

Help them to know that they can go to you no matter what, and that they would understand that you are that safe place. Father, keep them from lashing out against those around them.

Keep them from sinning as it were, and help them to continue to renew their minds so that eventually they would trust in you completely, that they would never need to lash out or to unload on you because they would know and trust and believe that you are daily bearing their burdens, that you are the provider for them. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank you so much for being with us this week. Have a great week, and God bless.
