But what if the key to experiencing true peace and purpose lies in the simple fact that you need to give God more time? There is tremendous importance in dedicating intentional time to God amidst the busyness of life.
Scripture encourages believers to “seek first the kingdom of God” (Matthew 6:33), reminding you that when you place God at the center of your daily routines, everything else falls into place.
By carving out moments each day to pray, read Scripture, and simply be in His presence, you allow God to guide and transform your life.
It’s not about having more hours in the day but about making the most of the time you already have. As you give God more time, you deepen your relationship with Him, find clarity in your purpose, and experience the abundant life He promises.
Make the commitment to give God more time in your life and discover the joy that comes from seeking Him first.

Now what does that mean? It means that, well, you need to spend more time in your day with God. You need to allow God to use you during more time in the day. You need to wait more and have more patience—to give God time to do something in your life.
A lot of different things. We’re going to dive into it today, so hopefully you’re ready for an inspirational message. Also, one that’s going to challenge and convict you because if I wasn’t here convicting you to do more of what the Bible says, then these messages would be pointless.
You say, “But I like the fluff. I like the feel-good preachers.” Too bad. Go somewhere else because this is not the type of feel-good message. In fact, Social Media Ministries, none of my messages are, I just—that’s not the way I am.
I’m more of the “Let’s get this figured out, and let’s tell you what you need to be doing because you need to be doing more.” I need to be doing more; we all need to be doing more to build the Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven, and if we are not doing that, then we are not doing what God wants. Now you might be doing some of what God wants, but we can always be doing more, and we need to have that mentality. We need to get after it.
We need to learn more about the Bible, and that’s what these messages are going to help you with. Watch and learn, not watch me and learn. Watch the messages. Listen and learn what the Holy Spirit is saying through me. I’m getting out of the way.
The Holy Spirit’s coming through. It’s going to you. You’re being taught the word of God. You need to receive it because you can listen to this all day long, but if you’re not ready and willing to receive it, it’s not going to do you any good.
And that’s so true. How many times do some people – they listen to stuff all the time, but yet it’s like, “Man, how many times do you watch or listen to these things?” And, and I tell you, “I listened to it one time,” and I talk to you about something in it. You say you listen to it a hundred times, and you don’t even know what I’m talking about.
Well, you must just have it playing and you’re not, not receiving it. No doubt that’s been an experience in your life, and sometimes people ask, “Man, these kids, they remember every line of every movie. How many times did you watch that movie?” “Just the once.”
But they were watching it and receiving it cause children are like sponges. So you have to be careful what they watch and listen to. We have a sermon series on that. That’s coming up. It’ll be on here.
“Be careful, little eyes and ears, or be careful,” and you as an adult, you saw the movie once and you’re like, “Man, they can quote every line,” and they get mad at you for miscuing it because you weren’t really watching and receiving it, but they were because they don’t have other things to watch and receive. So you need to make sure you’re putting the right things into your children.
That’s your job, your responsibility; you are their parent. If you have children, that is your responsibility to make sure what is going into those kids is the right stuff, and I don’t just mean food.
I’m talking, what are they getting in life because if they are out in the world, they are getting worldly nonsense, and so you need to take the initiative, your God-given authority, and enact it. You have authority over those children. Act like it. Be the authority. Teach them what they need to know.
Teach them the Bible. Be the leader of your house and do what God is commanding you to do, all right. Give God more time. You lead a busy and hectic life. There’s never enough time for you to get everything done and do everything you want to do. Trust me.
I know there’s so much that I want to do in a day. There’s so much that I feel like I need to do in a day, and every single day, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, and pretty soon it’s just piling up and you’re like, “I just do not have the time for this.”
Yet every night you can find some time to sit on the couch for two hours and watch your favorite TV show or a movie. Well, what in the world? Why don’t you? “Well. I’m tired by that time.” “I’m just exhausted.” And so you sit on the couch or you scroll through Facebook or TikTok or the reels or the whatevers.
You sure can find the time to do that, but there’s never enough time to do what you want. “Oh, we should go here sometime.” “I should eat there.” “I should do this,” and there never seems to be enough time. Guess what? You should be doing what God wants.
Let’s go to Proverbs 16:3. “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” We have an entire playlist of sermons on making plans. Check it out on our website. Just go type in “Plans,” and you will see there are several of them that you can learn more about, how God plans for you, how you have plans in life, if you commit your plans to the Lord, He will establish them, but it doesn’t mean they need to be your selfish plans.
It means they need to be plans that align with His plan for you, and if you commit and work together, bam. Things happen. Really, it all boils down to time and money, those are life’s two biggest challenges. Either you have time and no money to do the things you want, or you have money and no time to do the things you want. Very rarely do you have both time and money.
Oftentimes, if you have a lot of time, it means you’re probably not working, so you don’t really have the money. Oftentimes, if you have money, it means you’re working all the time so you don’t have extra time to do these things.
It’s a tough balance, and you know what, the Christian life, the true Christian life is very unbalanced. There’d be no balance because you’re going to be doing everything for God and nothing for the world.
That is definitely not balanced, but the worldly life is balanced. Perfectly balanced. I go to work. I have time with my family. I have time to do me. I have this. I have this, and it’s balanced. We don’t want that as believers.
Your life needs to be unbalanced. You gotta be on fire for God. Working hard for Him all the time, knowing, being certain of your purpose, your calling, and your authority to do that here on Earth. It all comes down to your priorities. Where are your priorities?
Let’s go to Colossians 3:2. “Set your minds on things above, not on Earthly things.” That’s where your priorities need to be. We have a sermon called “Things Above” that might help you. Watch it. Learn from it.
You decide what takes priority in your life and what is important in your life, and that decision needs to be made with God in mind. Because remember, you are not of this world. You are of a Heavenly Kingdom.
You are here for one purpose, one mission, and that is to do the will of your Father in Heaven. You have your brother Jesus to help you, and you have the Holy Spirit here as a helper within you to direct your steps, to direct your path. You have the ability to do that. You have to decide what is important.
Let’s go to Matthew 6:33. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” What are all these things? Well, we’ve had a number of sermons that quote this verse. You just have to check them out.
You can search Matthew 6:33 on our website if you want to find them all. The point is God is saying—Jesus, these are Jesus’s words. He is saying that you need to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and everything else: time, money, prosperity, success, family, happiness, whatever.
All these Earthly pleasures, these worldly great things, these blessings in life will be given to you as well, so if you seek God and you do what He wants you to do, He will bless you. He will make you prosperous and successful. Why?
Because He doesn’t want you living on the street in a cardboard box as a testimony of success. Well, if that’s what a true Christian looks like, why would anyone want that? No one would. No one wants to be like that, so if you do exactly what God wants you to do and you are on fire for Him and you are setting the world on fire for Christ, He will give you prosperity and success.
He will have signs and wonders follow you. Signs and wonders follow those who do the will of God. So what happens? People are going to see that and be like, “Man, I want to be able to do that.” Boom. Disciple them.
Tell them what to do. There’s another one. Get going. You decide what’s important, and those are the things in your life that get done. Unfortunately, many people have misaligned their priorities. They’re, they’re backwards. They’re messed up.
Let’s go to 1 Peter 4:3-4. 1 Peter 4:3-4. “For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and detestable idolatry. They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you.”
Guess what? You spent enough time in the past doing the things of this world. Whatever it used to be, sitting on the couch watching TV, scrolling through Instagram reels or TikTok or Facebook, or whatever, you spent enough time looking at YouTube shorts.
You spent enough time going out playing darts or pool, or bowling with the buddies. You spent enough time doing those things of the world. In the past, you’ve spent enough time doing that. It is time to for you to make a change.
It is time for you to live on fire for Christ, and if you say, “I have a family. I don’t want to do that because I’d take time away from them.” Guess what? You start doing that, your family will be happier than they ever were before. Why? Well, cause you’re out of the house. No.
Because they see you leading by example. They see you on fire for God. They see the joy in you, and they say, “I want that too.” And now you bring your family with you, and you’re doing outreach and you’re changing lives, and they are like, “This is awesome.”
And they are a part of it, and you are inspiring them to go and do, and now they are doing the same thing. Wherever they go, and you are a force multiplier building the Kingdom here on Earth as it is in Heaven, and you’ll say, “After a while, I don’t even know what we used to do before we did this.”
I can’t believe you’ll sit down to watch a movie night with your family and you’re all going to be sitting there, and you’ll be like, “Wow, what a waste of time.” And your movie nights won’t even be enjoyable anymore, cause you’re going to all be like, “Why don’t we get out and do something?” You decide what takes priority in your life, and if you decide God takes priority, your family will decide that as well.
You say, “Well, I’m the wife. My husband is the head of the household. I—I can’t do that because God tells me I need to submit to my husband, and he wants to watch movies.” Guess what?
You can still lead by example in that situation because your husband will see that in you, and if he is a good husband, like a Christian husband, a godly one who should be, then he will see that devotion in you. And he will listen to your counsel, and he will do that out of love for you, and you will both rise together.
If for some reason you’re unequally yoked in marriage, prayer. We have a sermon on “Unequally Yoked Marriage.” Check that one out. That’ll be good for you. The point is, whatever your position in the family, you can take control.
You can have God be your priority and pray, and the time will come when you guys get together. You have to give God more time, more time of your life, and if you have that situation where you say, “I’m battling with my family on what the priority is,” give God time to change that. Pray to Him. Ask Him. Tell Him.
Give it to God. God needs to be at the top of the list. He should be also at the top of your list and the foundation of everything you do. Let’s go to Luke 12:34.
Luke 12:34: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” God needs to be your foundation. If you put your treasure in Him, that’s where your heart will be, and remember, that’s seeking His Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you as well. In today’s world, roughly ¼ of Christians actually read their Bible.
It might even be less now because so many people call themselves Christians and they’re not. They’re just, “Oh, it’s Christian,” like it’s a movement. Like, “Oh, I’m a Christian.” Like, I don’t know, like you’re just some belief that people claim.
“I’m religious.” “Oh, I’m spiritual.” What does it mean? It means nothing unless you do what the Bible says, and how many Christians actually do? Man, I would say 5%, huh? Pretty, pretty pathetic, really.
How many Christians are actually missionaries? I think it’s like a tenth of a percent. That’s pathetic. If all the Christians did what they’re supposed to do and supported missionaries or sent missionaries or went, we would have more funding for missionaries than missionaries.
Wouldn’t that inspire more people to go be missionaries if the money was there? Well then, then, they’re doing it for the wrong reason. It is time for the people of God to be the people of God.
Kind of the put up or shut up moment. Start living your faith because if you’re not living your faith, you don’t have faith at all. Like James says, “Faith without action is dead.” So it means you can say you’re a Christian, but if you’re not doing what the Bible says, you’re definitely not a Christian.
You are misrepresenting the uniform of Christ. Do you read your Bible every day? ¼. We have a sermon on knowing and understanding your Bible. It’s a series. The playlist will be up here in a card, or go to our website and search, “Know Your Bible,” “Understand Your Bible,” or “Read Your Bible.” You must be reading your Bible.
What takes priority in your life? Regular church attendance is considered to be twice a month. Twice a month. Now, if you’re daily listening to a sermon on your drive, okay, that’s good, but what’s your family doing?
Are they getting that content? Are they taking the initiative? Take control. Take dominion. I’m not saying be a tyrant or a dictator. Be the leader God wants you to be and get your family consuming that content as well. Do it together.
Instead of a movie night, how about a sermon night where you watch a 20-minute sermon with some popcorn and snacks, and then talk about it for 40 minutes, and there’s your hour.
Now you go to bed and you sleep with all that marinating in your mind with God instead of sleeping with some Hollywood movie nonsense marinating in your mind all night, giving you guys dreams that you don’t even know where are coming from. Get to church. We have a sermon on that, too. “Go to church.”
Now it’s important to make sure the church you’re going to obviously is believing what you believe, is preaching the Word of God, and is raising up people to do the Word, not just these happy-go-lucky feel-good churches filled with shiny happy people all on the road to Hell.
Not good. People are not giving God more time, and they need to be giving God more time. This is why life seems so hectic, because there’s so much chaos going on, and if you said, “Stop with the chaos, give God control. He puts control in your life, and you have peace.”
You say, “It doesn’t really make sense if I live in chaos and then instead of taking control and getting it done, I’m just going to, like, give God the control and He’ll make it happen and get it done.”
It doesn’t make sense because we are not of this world, and so if the world is chaos, a worldly solution does not solve the chaos because it’s all the same. You need a Heavenly solution to solve the chaos, and it works. If you give God more time, life will not be as hectic as it seems because you will realize you have the peace of God in your life, so make an effort.
Put down the remote. Put down the phone. Put away the computer for a moment. Give God some time. Our God is a jealous God. We have a sermon on “God is Jealous.” You can check that out on our website or YouTube channel. God is a jealous God.
Let’s go to Deuteronomy 4:24. Deuteronomy 4:24: “For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.” He wants your time. He wants your devotion. How many hours a day do you spend plugged into your electronic devices?
Social media—looking at pictures, watching videos, memes, or whatever these things are called, gifs—how many hours a day? What about watching TV? What about complaining, gossiping, living in sin, going out to bars, or this or that? How many hours a day? How many hours a week?
Probably a lot more than you think. What would it take for you to carve out 10 more minutes a day with God? 10 minutes. Open up your Bible to Proverbs and read a Proverb chapter. That would probably take you 10 minutes.
Once a day, you want to get real ambitious, then go to Psalms. Read a Psalm a day, probably take you another 10-15 minutes. Do one in the evening and one in the morning, you could do that. I guarantee you it will change your life. Make the decision and make the effort to give God more time in your life.
Let’s pray.
Father, thank you so much for this timely message. Help each and every person realize and understand they need to give God more time. They need to give you time in your life. They need to be devoted to you.
Inspire them, Father. Inspire them to take a look at what is consuming their time and where their priorities are, and help them to decide to make you their priority.
Father, give them the desire to live on fire for you and to help others do the same, that they would live the Great Commission, that they would be a testimony for you, that they would wear the uniform of Christ, that they would be a true Christian, and that they would follow you in everything they do.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
I hope this sermon inspires you to give God more time in your life. If you have questions or comments, feel free to post them below on the YouTube video or on our Discord server, Facebook, wherever works best for you.
Have a great week, and God bless.
