Discover what Scripture teaches about humanity’s dominion, Christ’s authority, and our responsibility to stand against the works of the enemy.

This sermon continues the series on the battle between two kingdoms by examining humanity’s original dominion over the earth and how that authority was challenged through the fall. Genesis 1:26 and Genesis 1:28 describe God giving mankind authority to rule and subdue the earth.

The message traces the spiritual conflict through Satan’s rebellion and the temptation of Adam and Eve. Ezekiel 28:14 and Ezekiel 28:17, along with Isaiah 14:12 and Revelation 12:9, are presented as passages describing Satan’s fall and his being cast down to earth. Genesis 3:6 then shows Adam and Eve surrendering the dominion God had given them.

The sermon explains how Luke 4:6 describes Satan claiming authority over the kingdoms of the world, while 2 Corinthians 4:4 and 1 John 5:19 describe the world as being under the influence or control of the evil one. Yet this authority does not remain with Satan after Christ’s victory.

Colossians 2:15 declares that Jesus disarmed the powers and authorities through the cross. Matthew 28:18 then records Jesus declaring that all authority in Heaven and on Earth had been given to Him. The message emphasizes that believers are called to operate under Christ’s authority rather than surrendering ground to the enemy.

Luke 10:19 is presented as a powerful reminder that Jesus gives His followers authority over the power of the enemy. The sermon calls believers to understand their identity in Christ, renew their minds, stand boldly in faith, and actively resist the works of darkness.

Ultimately, the teaching presents spiritual warfare as an ongoing battle in which believers are called to enforce Christ’s victory. The goal is not domination over other people, but serving others while standing firmly against the works of the enemy and advancing the kingdom of God.
