This message begins with the foundational truth that believers are not passive in their faith, but active participants in God’s mission. Scripture reminds us that we are not to be ashamed of the gospel, because it carries the very power of God for salvation to all who believe (Romans 1:16). This sets the tone for a life that is unashamed, visible, and intentional in sharing Christ.
The sermon emphasizes that obedience often requires stepping forward even when we feel unqualified or uncertain. God reassures His people that He will provide the words and guidance needed when they are called to act, promising divine help in both speech and direction (Exodus 4:12). Alongside this, believers are reminded that the Holy Spirit actively teaches and equips them in real time, giving wisdom for every moment of witness and decision (Luke 12:12).
A key focus of the message is the role of the Holy Spirit as guide and teacher. Jesus promised that the Spirit of truth will lead believers into all truth, speaking what He hears and revealing what is to come, ensuring that followers of Christ are never alone in their mission (John 16:13-15). This reinforces the idea that ministry is not carried out in human strength, but through divine direction.
The sermon also confronts fear and hesitation, urging believers not to remain silent about their faith. Jesus makes it clear that those who acknowledge Him before others will be acknowledged before the Father, while those who deny Him will face denial in return (Matthew 10:32-33). This call challenges believers to live openly and courageously in every environment, including social media and daily life.
At the heart of the message is the assurance that God has not given His people a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). This truth anchors the entire sermon, reminding believers that boldness is not optional but part of their spiritual identity in Christ. The message closes with a call to step fully into ministry, live without shame, and actively use every opportunity to share the gospel.

Today, we are talking about your ministry. Yes, you have a ministry, whether you like it or not, whether you live in it or not. It is time for you to start doing your ministry.
You say, “I don’t have a ministry.” Yes, you do. You say, “Well, I’m not like you. I don’t have Social Media Ministries. I didn’t start something like that.” Doesn’t matter. You still have a ministry.
God put you in a certain place in this world, in your life, for this time and for a specific reason. What is it? It is to build His Kingdom here on Earth as it is in Heaven. That is your job as a believer in Christ. As a member of one body, you are called, you are commanded, to work together with your brothers and sisters in Christ and build His Kingdom.
Now, that may seem a little more difficult than it really is. In addition, you might think it’s easier than it is. Let me explain that.
If you are truly a believer in Christ and you truly want to build His Kingdom here on Earth as it is in Heaven, then you will know where your money is going when you go take your car to the repair shop.
First of all, you should never have to take your car to the repair shop because if you’re living in true faith and you believe God provides everything, then your car should always work. You say that’s unrealistic. No, it’s not. Have faith.
Is it unrealistic for a mountain to be moved into the sea? You better believe it is. But Jesus says it’s possible with faith the size of a mustard seed. It’s not the size. It’s your faith that matters. It’s not the size of the faith. You don’t need a faith the size of an acorn or a boulder. No, you just need faith.
So, for example, you should have the faith that everything is provided. But if, in fact, you do need to spend money somewhere, you should be spending money at places that support the Kingdom, not places that don’t.
That means, do you think a liquor store supports the Kingdom? Well, that answers that. Shouldn’t be drinking anyway. What about cigarette smokers? Do you think that supports the Kingdom? No.
If you are a true believer in Christ, you’re going to need to make some changes in your life and replace those things with the Word of God, with time with God. Because I promise you, you say, “Well, I don’t know if I could live without my nightcap.” You can have a new nightcap. And when you do, when you make that change, this will far surpass anything you had before. Believe me.
You say, “Well, I like watching certain TV shows, or I like going to the movie theater.” Okay, fine. Find out who owns the movie theater. Find out who produces the TV shows. Maybe make some changes in your life.
I’m not saying you’re going to be perfect in every situation. Some things, yeah, you might watch some TV shows and enjoy them that aren’t Christian-made. That’s okay. But in the majority of things that you can do, it needs to be supporting the Kingdom.
So, take a look at that. Start thinking about that. Start paying attention to where your dollars are going. Where your support is going. What’s going on in your life.
As members of the Body of Christ, support each other. That’s a side note, but it’s timely right now in this day and age. We need to band together now more than ever and show the world what it means to be a Christian, that it is different.
That it’s not just Christian churchgoers who pray and have no results, or Christian churchgoers with churches on every corner but society is filled with homeless people, or Christian churchgoers with, again, thousands of cars in the parking lots on Sundays, but then every other day of the week the world is a mess.
Obviously, those thousands of cars filled with people are not making a difference in the community. It’s time to change that.
So today, like I said, we’re talking about your ministry. You have a part to play. Step into that role.
You have a calling and a purpose. We have several sermons on that, so check them out in a card up here if you’re watching on YouTube. Otherwise, head to our website and type in “calling and purpose,” and you can watch those sermons.
But I want you to take a minute to think about all of the people that you have the power to influence on a daily basis.
You say, “Not many. I work from home.” Guess what? How about not only all the people you come into physical contact with? Okay, maybe at the grocery store, at the bank, wherever you go on a day-to-day basis or weekly basis out in public. But okay, fine. You work from home. Think about how many people in your social media feeds you have the power to influence.
Instagram, how many followers do you have? How many people interact in your posts? Facebook, how many people on your friends list? Pinterest, how many people look at your boards or your pins or all that kind of stuff? TikTok, how many people watch your videos? YouTube, et cetera. Any social media, X, whatever it is, wherever you have a social media account. What else is there? Reddit.
You might have some older accounts like Tumblr or a blog there, or a Blogger blog or Medium. You maybe have a blog there.
Wherever it is, whatever you have, think about the social media accounts. You say, “Well, I only have 100 followers.” That’s 100 people. Where else do you have the ability to reach 100 people in seconds? You have the ability to share Jesus with hundreds, potentially thousands of people every single day.
It’s time for you to get out there. We have a sermon playlist, “Just Get Out There and Bring Others to Christ.” Check that out for some motivation.
All you need to do is create a post. Think how easy that is. Think about how easy it would be for you every single day to take one minute and type out a verse or some Bible lesson, or, you know what, take five extra minutes then and paste it in all those other social media accounts.
But think about how much easier it would be for you to take content that’s already created and simply click a share button.
So all you need to do, we have a 60-second one you could use. We have sermons you could use. You could go to our YouTube channel, and when there’s a section that you really like, you could hit the Clip button, and you could highlight a certain section, and then you could share just only that section. You don’t have to share a 20-minute sermon. You could share 60 seconds of the 20 minutes.
You could share a 60-second Bible verse. You know, you could get this app. It’s called Bible, and they give you a verse every single day, and you could just hit that share button and share a nice image of a Bible verse.
They also have another app that’s like YouVersion Photos or something, where you can take a picture of yourself or of your scenery or backyard or whatever, and you put it in there, and it scans the image and it’ll tell you what Bible verses relate to that image and put them on there for you, and you could share that.
That might take you a little more time, but the point is you have the ability to share Jesus with thousands of people, maybe hundreds of people every single day.
If you don’t follow our Ministry Minute, I encourage you to do so. Sixty seconds. It’s a Bible verse, then practical application, what the verse is about. It’s 60 seconds. Every day, if you watch that video, just hit that little share button. Boom. Repost it to your feed. Let other people see it.
That’s a powerful way that you can share Christ with other people at very minimal effort. I’m talking bare minimum. It’s like two seconds for you to touch a share button and then select where you’re sharing it.
Guys, if you aren’t doing that, if you’re not taking advantage of your social media feeds, what are you doing in the real world?
Maybe you say, “Well, I don’t do any of that social media. I go out and share Jesus in person.” Do you? I hope so.
You say, “I don’t know where to go.” Go to the mall. I’m not kidding. Walk around the mall for an hour, and you will see dozens of people that need help. It is a war zone out there.
Go to the hospitals, go to public parks, take your kids to the park, and instead of sitting on the bench on your phone, walk around and talk to the other parents and see what’s going on in their lives and say, “Let me pray for that.”
And when you pray, don’t just say, “Okay, Father, please do something.” No, you do it. You command it in their life. You speak over them. You prophesy to them.
You say, “I don’t prophesy.” Yes, you do. Time to step into what God wants you to do. Step into who God wants you to be.
You know what He wants you to do? Heal the sick, cast out demons. He even wants you to raise the dead. He wants you to prophesy over people.
You say, “I don’t know if I have the faith for that.” What are you talking about? You have the faith. The faith is there. Start to use it. Make it strong. All you need is a little bit, but it needs to be strong because it’s nothing to do with the size of your faith, because Jesus says the size of a grain of a mustard seed—that is the smallest of all seeds. So size is not relevant here.
What we’re talking about is quality. It’s the deepness, the vastness of your faith. How pure is your faith? Where is your faith? Is it in Jesus? Is it in what the Bible says? Or is it in something else? It better be in what the Bible says.
So, what are you waiting for? Oh, because you’re worried about what other people might think when you share a Bible verse every day on social media. Don’t be ashamed of the gospel.
Let’s go to Romans 1:16.
Romans 1:16 says:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”
Listen, you do not need to be ashamed. Why? Because it is the power of God.
So when someone comments negatively on your verse, or when you get hateful comments and people are like, “You’ve shared a verse now every single day. It’s really starting to annoy me. I’m done following you.” So what? Let them go.
Remember what I said. You need to band together with brothers and sisters in Christ.
You know what? This isn’t a real statistic or anything. This is just something from my own experience. And if you listen to other ministers and talk to them, of people who are really doing the Word of God—I’m talking about New Testament church, because most of those churches out there are not—you find people who are really doing it and you talk to them.
This is what they’re going to tell you: that, hey, if you find 10 people, two of them are going to be quality people. Two of them are going to be people who stand up, who know what the Bible is, who want to live in faith, who make this happen.
So, you know what? If someone comments that they’re really irritated that you keep sharing Bible verses, let them go. They’re not worth it anyway. Maybe someday they will come back, and someday they will be ready. But right now, don’t worry about that.
Find the two out of 10 who will stand with you and who will band together with you. And then go find 10 more and find the two out of that 10, and keep doing that until you get 10 or 12 people.
You might need to go through 120 people to get your 12. But that’s okay, because 12 people with strong faith who are dedicated to the Word of God can do more than 120 lukewarm Christians.
What did Jesus say? “Because you are lukewarm, I will spit you out of my mouth.” He doesn’t want lukewarm. He doesn’t want thousands of people in a church on a Sunday, and then they’re all lukewarm and doing nothing. No, He wants red-hot fire, bright and salty believers.
It’s time to get busy. Share the Word of God. That is the bare minimum you should be doing, especially if you have an influence on social media.
You’re not sure what you would say? We have lots of content. We’ve got a sermon every week you could use. We have a video every day you could use. The Bible app puts out videos every day. BibleProject puts out tons of videos that are very in-depth. There is content out there. You don’t need to create it. Just make sure what you’re sharing is sound.
Not sure what you’d put as a little caption or something? Don’t worry. God will help you.
Not sure what you’d say when you go out and evangelize? God will help you.
Let’s go to Exodus 4:12.
Exodus 4:12 says:
“Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
In other words, there are no excuses. God will not let you down. Get out there. God does not let His Word return void. Meaning, you need to go do the Word, and results will happen.
Let’s go to Luke 12:12.
“For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
Now, that’s Jesus speaking, saying the Holy Spirit is going to tell you what you should say.
See, prior to Jesus, no one had the Holy Spirit. Jesus didn’t even deal with any Christians. Then He had to die, and then He was able to come back from the dead and release the Holy Spirit on all of us. Now, we weren’t there at that time, but now we have the ability to have the Holy Spirit.
And the Holy Spirit will teach us at the time what we are to say. Jesus was specifically referring to when you get called to question, like if you’re getting called in court or you’re getting in trouble, the Holy Spirit will guide you. But that means that if you go out there and evangelize and people start to question what you’re doing, the Holy Spirit is going to tell you what to say.
Start listening.
How do we know this? Well, the Holy Spirit is your Advocate. Let’s go to John 14:26.
“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
Listen to that. Will the Holy Spirit just teach you some things? So then you’ll go out and you’re going to look like a fool when talking about something else? No. The Holy Spirit will teach you all things and will remind you of everything Jesus has said.
You say, “Well, I don’t know if I remember it all.” The Holy Spirit will remind you at that time.
You say, “I don’t know it now. I need to prepare.” No, you don’t. Get out there and have faith that when you need answers, the Holy Spirit will provide them.
Because God doesn’t want you to live on knowledge. That’s what the Pharisees were doing. They were living on knowledge. No. He says, “Get out there and live on faith.”
Why do you think He called the disciples who were unknowledgeable? Why do you think He was with tax collectors and sinners? Because they were unknowledgeable.
Paul even says, “Not many of you were worth anything when you were called. You were all low, but Christ called you to use people of lowly stature to shame the wise.”
We had a sermon on that before, a couple weeks ago. I’ll put it up here. I don’t remember the title, but check it out. It was “God Can Use Anyone.” So, you can search for those keywords.
But that’s the point: God wants to use you. You have a ministry. It’s your ministry. Start to live in it.
If you’re reading a daily devotional, guess what? Most phone cameras now have this excellent thing where you can try to take a picture of the screen of your devotional.
For example, let’s just say you’re reading a section of the Bible. You could take a picture of this paragraph, and you know what the phone will do? It’s going to give you a little pop-up in the bottom corner of the camera that looks like little lines. You say, “I never knew what that was.” Touch it.
What happens is now you can select all those words and hit the Copy button. Unbelievable. You can literally put your camera over text and copy it.
So you don’t need to type it all out. If you read a daily devotional, you could copy it and post it on your social media feeds. There is no excuse, guys. With technology today, you have everything you need. Click a share button in two seconds, hover over some text, copy it, whatever you got to do. But start doing.
You know, you have the material. Just repost it. An easy way. Just start by sharing on social media.
Work up the courage to start speaking about it in public, because guess what? If you start sharing it on social media, anybody that lives in your area is probably going to start asking you about it.
They’re going to say, when they see you at the soccer game for your kids or when they see you at the school meeting, whatever, “Hey, I noticed you started sharing a lot of verses lately.”
Then you can say yes and say it boldly. Don’t be like, “Oh, yeah, I just figure I better do my part.” No. Do not be ashamed of the gospel. Say yes. And you know why? Because it’s time for us to stand up for what we believe in.
Boom. Get serious about this, because this is a serious deal. We are talking about eternity here.
Let’s go to John 16:13-15.
John 16:13-15:
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
Do you know what this means? It means the Holy Spirit knows. It means that when you go out there to share the Word of God, it will be coming from Jesus. It will be coming from the Father, made known to you through the Holy Spirit.
If you begin to share God on social media every day, guess what? Sooner or later, people are going to start asking you about it. Take that time to dive in and speak with them.
Let’s go to Matthew 10:32-33.
Matthew 10:32-33:
“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in Heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in Heaven.”
That means if you’re ashamed of the gospel, if you start sharing and you give some tiny little milquetoast answer of, “Oh, yeah, I just figure I better do my part,” you know what? Don’t be ashamed. Because if you disown Christ before others, He will disown you.
So start standing up for what you believe in. What are you waiting for? Start sharing God today.
Hey, let’s go to 2 Timothy 1:7 before we wrap up.
2 Timothy 1:7:
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
It does not make us timid. Another verse says God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of boldness.
So, be bold in your faith. Let your ministry shine because you have one. You simply need to start doing it.
Let’s pray.
Father, You gave each and every person a spirit of power, a spirit of boldness. Inspire them to step into that calling. Inspire them to know their ministries, that they have a ministry and that they need to start doing it. Give them the motivation and the courage and the desire to do that.
Father, I ask that You would motivate them. Use us to motivate them. Use them to motivate each other. Have them read the Word of God so that they can be obedient to You. And let them see the promises in Your Word. Father, reveal those promises to them so that they will know and obey.
Thank You, Father, for everything You do for us, for giving us Your Word. Thank You for this message today. Thank You for all the blessings You provide. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Your ministry is important. Start living it. Have a great week, and God bless.
