That is a pretty generic statistic. What makes that statement so encouraging, is that there are now 100 more people reading Bibles, devotionals, and other Christian books than last month!

This month, we’ve collected and redistributed over 100 Bibles, devotionals, and other Christian books in the Minnesota Twin Cities area and placed them in the hands of people who are hungry to learn more about God. 

Volunteers with Social Media Ministries Street Teams have been hitting the pavement going to homeless areas, metro stops, street corners, and parking lots to evangelize and share the good news. 

It isn’t enough to simply go out and give away food, clothing, books, or other resources. Yes, meeting physical needs is great, but the calling of every Christian is to meet Spiritual needs – to make disciples of all nations – and that’s what we’re doing.

It’s important to have a plan. People love free stuff, especially food. We go out with some snacks and a table of free books. The biggest mistake we can make is to simply give away food, books, and other resources without investing time to speak with the recipients. Thanks to you, we are doing both.

Praying with people, putting a book in their hands, and explaining the importance of reading it activates the discipleship process. Scripture is alive and active. Their spirit will be stirred and they will be hungry for more. 

Together, we meet physical and spiritual needs. Our videos, sermons, Ministry Minute devotionals, and other online resources provide ways for them to continue receiving spiritual food once we’ve left the area.
