Social Media Ministries Counters Digital Disorder

Burnsville, MN – Social Media Ministries is fighting the harmful content and negativity on social media with the Word. Minnesota resident and SMM Founder Spencer Coffman launched the ministry in 2021 to spread Scripture to people in an arena deficient in positive messaging.

“In today’s world, people are spending more time than ever on social media sites like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and more,” said Coffman. “If Christians aren’t actively sharing Biblical content on these platforms, they’re missing out on a great opportunity to reach people for Christ.”

Coffman first had the idea for the project in about 2015. He furthered his idea in 2017 and 2018 and then proceeded with its first iteration, but after experiencing a minor setback, along with a worldwide epidemic and shutdown, he refined SMM to its current form to share the Gospel.

“The trouble is many Christians don’t know what to share. That’s where Social Media Ministries can help,” said Coffman. “We believe that the effective use of social media is vital to reach more people in the 21st century. And that’s what Social Media Ministries is all about: helping Christians maximize their impact online so that more lives can be transformed by the Gospel!”

SMM, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, plans to share the living Word with as many people as possible and grow the church of Christ. A great way of doing this is through the support of viewers, according to Coffman, people who are following, who are watching the videos, and who decide to help SMM fulfill its mission.

SMM shares content on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, and other platforms via weekly sermons and daily Ministry Minute devotionals that share the Gospel and update its followers about SMM activities. Go to socialmediaministries.com for more information and to follow SMM.
